He's still sleeping with us.

I only go home on the weekends. My son is almost eight years old now but he's still sleeping with us. He's our only child so we love him sleeping next to us. Sooner or later, he should sleep in his own room. I hope he can adjust as soon as possible. I guess it will be difficult for him. I don't want to think about it yet but I'm already bothered now. It depends on practice in diffeerent countries. In India children sleep in the same room where parents sleep till teen age also. In families where they can afford a separate room they give one after 13/14 years age.
do not bother. he will learn to sleep in his own room soon.

Yes, you're right. We'll just wait til he wants us to provide him a comfy roon for himself. For now, enjoying sleeping with him is the best that we can do. Seeing him next to us having a sound sleep makes us happy and gives us peace of mind. I sometimes get paranoid. I sometimes think that an astray bullet from trigger-happy people might hit one of us while we are sleep. I hope it won't and would never happen. Thanks a lot for posting and happy mylotting.

Not enough to hope. You have to educate your child to start sleeping in separate rooms. Example, a nice bedroom set for him. Accompanying him go to sleep, etc..

I guess by the end of the school year, we'll try to tell him about that. He should be prepared, too. Also, I guess it will also difficult for us to have a new set up. We are already used in seeing him having a sound sleep and safe. Thanks a lot for posting and happy mylotting.

You have to be prepared , soon he will stay in another room for the baby has grown up now , though parents wanted their baby to be a baby always .
