What is the best treatment that worked in relieving your acne?
I have tried some medication.I tried Brevoxyl for some time.It is a great cream that you can use,but you need to be cautious using it.You need to apply a very little quantity, because it will burn your face.I exceeded the dose sometimes, and got my face red for two weeks.
I also tried Skinoren, accompanied by TeenDerm(face purifier),using Erythromycin as an antibiotic. Also,it did the work, but some of the acne remained. So I once again changed.
The only thing that I hail to be the greatest for me is Zineryt. Also,I change my pillow cases every night. My acne dramatically improved.
So,what is you tactic in "beating" acne?Has it worked?Share your opinions here.

i had acne problem also and I have tried to treat it at home rather than buying those expensive products. I have never heard of the product you mentioned in the discussion. what I do is I steam my face every week and then take a little sugar in my hand and add a drop of face wash and then scrub the face. You have acne because you have oily skin i guess and you must wash your face every now and then as you feel the grease on your face. This will help a lot. In hope your acne problem comes to an end soon. thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Well,my acne is now "under control".It sort of spikes when I eat certain types of food, like dairy products and high amounts of carbs.
Sometimes I do steam my face,in order to my pores to open up.Sometimes I rub cornmeal on my face after the steaming.
You too have a nice day.

HI Oktavist, my husband suffered from acne before after drinking juice high in protein, I decided to brought him in dermatologist because we can't treat it anymore using some acne cream. His doctor gave him antibacterial body wash, clindamycin solution which he apply after taking a bath and prescribed him a docycline. Also he was advice to shower or wash his face as soon as possible after exposing in air polluted area. He also taking some multivitamins, vit.E and Vitamin C, oo far, he is doing fine and no more acne only acne marks.

I find that vitamins do an awesome work on acne. After I stop taking vitamins and minerals, the pimples creep on my face.
I wash my face every time I go out(but only with water,if I go short distances) and soap it after long distances,or when I come home late.
I also noticed that if I use regular soap,my face would dry,so I use glycerin soap.

hello there.. i've been battling with acnes before. there are lots of reasons why a certain person have this. one is that because of stresses, try to relax and loosen from anxieties in life. second is, if you have dandruffs, it might fall down to your face and there it started all. third, because of blood. there would be a possibility that the blood of the person is dirty (though i am not certain about this, and that disregard this if you are sure this would not cause acne)
okay, here in the philippines, i used a anti acne cream. it worked over time but if not using it, my acne returned. well, blessing in disguise, someone made a mixtures of astringents and antibiotics along with squalene as for moisturiser. that worked for me. and now if a single pimple will grow into my face, i will put some into my face then it will die fast leaving no trace behind.
some tips: do not put any oily substance into your face because it will trigger more dirt to stick into the skin of your face or you should try to put it in one pimple and see what will happened, if the pimple will die or will protrude more. drink plenty of water and try to wash it before you sleep using soap good for acne.

really, toothpaste did worked for you? hmm, never tried that. but to share one more experience, i put some anti-dandruff shampoo into my face where pimples protrude for overnight. what happened was that, i became more worse and that all the pimples are getting alive. gee, i wished did not do a thing like that but anyway that was just before ..
thanks for welcoming my opinions :)

Nice tips, one of them are new and welcome.
Hopefully I am not stressed.I try to have a positive outlook on the future, and say to myself something that relaxes, like this:
"You have a problem."
"Yes"
"Can you solve it?"
Option 1:"Yes."
"Than stay calm.You'll solve it."
Option 2:"No."
"Than stay calm. You have nothing more to do"
As for blood,I don't know.I haven't got any recent blood work done.
Dandruff?Well, you are right on the spot on that one! There isn't a single shampoo brand that won't give me dandruff.
Sometimes I use toothpaste on pimples. It dries them off a bit.

I think you would need to have something else other than salicylic acid. I didn't like the latter's effect to my skin years ago. It can easily dry up a pimple though.

I think your dermatologist would best be able to answer your question. He would be able to prescribe the correct creams and face washes for your particular acne. Some acnes can be caused by a virus in the nose and treatment is different from the usual acne vulgaris. Eating lots of fruit and vegetables also helps. Good luck :-)

Well,I don't think it's viral.Antivirals are kind of hard to buy and pretty much expensive.
I think it would have been a bacterial acne, because it reacted to erythromycin, which is an antibiotic.Because the progress stopped,I can say that the bacterial infection subsided
Also, may be hormones.if it is hormones, there is nothing I would want to to,except waiting.

Wow those are very foreign names to me. I, too have been battling with acne for a long time. I've just learned to control it these days by exfoliating my face as keeping it clean keeps the acne away. Other things I try to avoid is a balanced diet - no to too much carbs and refined sugar. I do notice I get allergic too with eating too much peanuts so I control my intake although I rarely crave for peanuts. Enough sleep is also important.
I have tried glycolic peel sessions before and it indeed has cleared up my skin.

I have read about Accutane and its effects that's why I never tried it before. I guess aside from the exfoliation, what I would also need is to get rid of the scars. It's not so obvious unless viewed close up.
I also did try zinc supplements. In fact there was one very effective supplement I used which kinda helped my skin. I bought those vitamins back in Malaysia and it was slow release Vitamin C with Zinc.
I also tried this plum/cranberry juice combination for good skin. The unpleasant effect of it though was it had some sort of laxative. But it was quite effective.

I share the same sentiments. I was actually writing my own dilemma about this when suddenly after hitting the post response it all went back to the edit text box recovering only an excerpt. Anyways, I have spend thousands of bucks just to clear up my face the past few years. It's a seasonal problem for me because there times when all is fine and the next thing I know is they are all popping out from left to right. I have also tried using korean brands like Etude. They have this AcneClear product line. I believe it's a concentrated salicylic acid with pink coloring together with a blemish cream. It worked for a few zits but not for all. Previously I have been using a local brand named Beauche which I stopped for quite some time because of laziness. Then my dilemma went back so I am using it again. It's still on the process of healing with few cystic acnes from time to time but not as worse like the other weeks.

My big sister have acne before that's why she visit her dermatologist and she recommended my sister to have a acne treatment, I forgot the way they call that treatment but it cuts down her acne and she put some sunblock and moisturizing cream on her face. After four sessions and four weeks, her face become so beautiful and can never notice that she got acne before. My sister told me that is because of the cream that she put on her face.

It is normal to have acne vulgaris, relative to hormonal imbalance. Some people go for special diet to relieve from having it. If I were you, you need to consult a dermatologist. The manner of having medications or creams without the advise from a doctor can lead to a more serious dilemma for the face.

I have consulted a number of dermatologists.Fortunately, none of them classified it as "vulgaris".
I think it's related to my hormonal levels.I haven't done any blood work on it,though.I think it will be a pretty good reason to check my blood levels for everything.

if me i have used gel that consists of benzoyl peroxide 5% and clindamycine 1,2% that is the first line to treat acne vulgaris at literature.if your acne is very bad also we can add doxycycline a systemic antibiotic.if all of them failure the last line is retinoic acid starts of 0.025%
