I paid $70.00 for a cellphone charger

I went to buy a new cellphone charger. I have been using my bosses when I go to work, then when it dies I have a dead phone until I go to work.
I had boughten one off eBay twice (two different sellers), and they both just stopped working.
I gave up and went to the store to get one. It came to $70.00 and I almost fell over hearing this.
But I needed a charger immediately so I paid it. I just think its ridiculous the cost of things like this.

The most I'd ever want to pay for a charger is $25.00 and even THAT is ridiculous... I hate you had to pay that much, major rip off!

I didn't know they were that expensive, I think my son has one I don't really know because I don't have a cellphone he does.

Thats average range here, I have spent well over that on chargers off eBay that were $5 - $20 each and they worked a few days, to a few weeks. At least this charger I can bring it back and exchange it up to a year whereas eBay many of the sellers stopped talking or responding to me.

In India you would easily get a cellphone as low upto $20 and as high upto $900.About six months back I bought the HTC EVO 3D that nearly cost me Rs.26000(approx $500) and I also have the old Nokia dual sim phone that cost Rs.3500(aprrox $70).In India almost every local brand and big companies like Nokia,Samsung make budget phones as low upto Rs.1000(approx $20).

even this is something urgent, I wouldn't pay $70 for cellphone charger, especially if the actual price might be only half of it or even cheaper. you can buy one good new cellphone from your pocket with $70 or with additional cash

In Indonesia you can get new cell phone with $70, but this is standard cellphone with standard feature. cellphone with price of $500 is quite expensive and $900 will be very expensive and too exclusive. may be currency and market affect the price here..

that is too much for a cellphone charger, is it original one? I bought charger for my smart phone a year ago, it is original, and only cost me $20. My friend from different city told me that it much cheaper in his place only $15. Have you tried asking to some store? they may tricked you.

I agree with you $70 is too much amount only for charger. In India get only in $10 or 20 depend upon company. If we wants to duplicate charger not original then we can purchase only in rs. 100 means 2 dollar.

wow Ricki I was going to sayt is that not way too ex pensive? but when y ou need something you need it of course.I guess the sellers figure you need it so yo u will pay the price b ut that does'not make it right of course.

Its straight from the cellphone company, but then it as a warranty on it. I have boughten a handful of cellphone accessories, including a handful of chargers. They work a day to a few weeks then stop, so even though its $70 right now, it will last long and they guarentee whereas the scammers on eBay gained money while sending out crappy product and nothing can be done.

Wow!!!!!! $70 for a cell phone. That is ridiculous. I don't think I would pay for one that was that expensive. I'd rather buy another phone for that price then buy another charger. Chargers that I bought, I've paid like $20 for it. It must be a really good charger or I hope its a really good charger that won't break on you for paying that much.

How much do you think a new phone costs? A new phone is about $500.00 - $900.00. I have boughten cheap chargers off eBay ranging from $5.00 - $20.00 they work for a few days, or weeks then stop working. I believe its a waste of money, I already spent over the $70.00. This charger is from a reputable company and has a warranty so I can take it back if it doesnt work.

My goodness, you paid nearly as much on your cellphone charger as I spent on my phone back in February. Then when I got the phone, I did need to have an extra charger for my phone and I went and bought that from Target. It only cost me twenty dollars to buy the extra charger for my phone, but it is one with multiple different attachments on it, so we are able to use it for both my phone, my best friend's phone and my husband's phone.

you could have bargained with them and the cost is quite unbearable and not fine at all.instead i would rather buy somewhere else even if its not present in that particular site

I did bargain and get a lot off. I paid just under $70.00 for the 3 items whereas they would of been well over $100. The guy had showed me it would of been about $125.00 otherwise. I have boughten the charger piece elsewhere including eBay where Im wasting my money and being screwed over with them. At least with the store, I can bring it back and have a 1 year warranty.

Wow! That is too much. Well, in our country you can have a charger for less than ten dollars. I'm just comparing the price. Well, anyway, if you really need something, you will pay for the price. Maybe it is the best charger.

Yes, I bought cheap chargers off eBay for $10.00 and even up to $20.00 they workeed for a few days to a few weeks then stopped working. In the end I wasted more money with them, whereas even though I paid $70.00 at this reputable company, it has a warranty and I can bring it back.

Oh my god you have been ripped off. Gosh, charger is so cheap to by. Oh my my, why did you buy it. was it something like very special charger? you cold have bought a cell phone cheaper than that. I feel bad for you. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

If you don't mind can you tell me what mobile you are using (i.e. brand and model). Till now I have never come to a position where I had to buy an original or duplicate chargers.

It's really funny how simple things cost too much. Too bad, manufacturers sell overpriced products. But there are still good third party brands that could provide you with same quality as of the original brands. Like for iPhones. The original apple charger costs 2500 pesos here in our country, but there are also good brands like capdase which sells for half the price. And they also work just like the original one.
