last two weeks i watched a program in a local channel. i was disappointed and shocked on prohibiting of wearing hijab among moslem women in a catholic college( i can't remember the name exactly of the college). hijab is a sacred tradition of our moslem women and i am not a moslem. i am against on this kind of act. before i was studied in a catholic school but our school is not against on practicing our belief and tradition as long as it is not violating the rules of the school. i know it is a sensitive thing, even today there is a discrimination on people who have different views, believes, and traditions. we have the power to practice our own belief and tradition because it is our constitutional rights. for you what is your stand?

Hello akatsukipein, I think that is something you can address the media or ched about it because some catholic schools are very strict. but that's because some catholic schools are strict and they promote christian religion and not every one elses. Is there any school that she can attend that doesn't discriminate her tradition and religious beliefs?

From what I knew from the school past history. They have accepted moslem students before and they accepted women wearing hijab. It was only recently that they were not allowed. I think the school management should be given a chance to explain why they suddenly change their policy.

Yeah I am a catholic and as catholic we were also taught religious tolerance and I am just surprised that this catholic school is not practicing that. I hope the school realizes this as I knew the schools had accepted Moslem students before and they allowed them to wear Hijab.
