My mom told me to write something on a piece of paper, and i was unable to write properly like i used to write in school and college. But the same thing i typed on my Computer within 1-2 minutes. Since now a days we are addicted to extensive use of Computers, cell phone, tabs, etc, we are not actually writing much using paper and pen. May be scribble a few words or take notes, that's it. we are able to type faster then actually write the same thing on paper. Do you agree to this?

While I use my phone and my laptop almost everyday, I still write on paper faster. And I still write properly. I just love the feel of the pen and my hand.

ha ha ha..me too me too, I hate writing on paper now, really lazy about it and you can make me type anything and everything, wish had learned shorthand too that would have made it so easier. I have been using computers since 2002 and I am now stuck with word and notepad, make my lists do everything through computer, recently noted that my writing has gone awfully bad, because I want the same speed in writing too as I type.

I am a freelance writer. Yes I write properly. If not, I would not be able to make a living. I agree that modern technology has messed up our ability to write properly.

Yes, it is my skills to write with a good penmanship. I think, it is better to write using a pen.

I still do it the traditional way in the longhand. Sometimes, it is better to do it the old way since typing on keyboards can also make my hands cramp compared pot my hands when I am writing. Also, it makes me challenge myself to have the spellings corrected by myself and not with the aid of a spellchecker. Sometimes, it is infuriating when the computer rejects my words when it fact it is really used. In your case, it might be a matter of practice. That’s the reason why I also ‘unhook’ myself from using computer (and also its applications) too much.

It is the same to me because i am lazy to write on paper also. I think i use a computer a lot so that i like typing than writing by my hand. I think it is not my problem or your problem, it is a big problem with people who often use computers nowadays. Do you think so?

Of course,I can write properly even in he present age of texting and typing.Actually I prefer writing to typing. With the advent of computers and cellphones, the art of writing on paper with a pen or pencil is dying.I am afraid it would get extinct soon. Now my kids don't like to write. They prefer typing. Our postman informed me the other day that the number of hand written letters arriving at the post office has fallen to a considerable extent.I have been inspiring my children to keep the habit of writing alive.

Yes totally agree with you I've been over 5 years typing all of notes by my laptop or my mobile phone. I could type fast and without even seeing the keyboard - meanwhile I write slower and if I tried so hard to make it fast my hand writing wouldn't be read even by me! lol Well, but I love typing at laptop - I could delete or copy paste or slip additional notes which it is not easy to do if you do hand writing :D

It must have been ages since the last time you wrote something with a pen and paper. The pen would feel weird in my fingers at the start but it's kinda like riding a bicycle to me. I just couldn't forget how to do it, it may get rusty but just see how it goes in a minute hey?

I might be called strange as i really do prefer to use pen and paper to write. I just find it easier to get ideas flowing than typing. I just get tired when typing to long on the computer but that's just me.

Hi, I agree with this that due to technology having revolutionized the world, most of us are unable to write at the same speed using pen and paper but can type that at a much faster pace on our keyboard or cell phone. However, I am actually happy to say that I am good at both.I can type fast and also write as fast using pen and paper. I completed my post-graduation last year and this month, I am back into a new course for which we have daily classes at college which requires constant writing down of notes, and I do it really fast and with good handwriting too. I hope I can continue to keep this practice for long. But I have noticed many of my friends having difficulty to write fast after a gap of a year, as they were not involved in writing after the post graduation exams. Have a nice day ahead!

hi there sbrn11, with reference to your post, it is quite hard to used pen and paper now a days if you are used to the modern electronic devices. hence, due to their existence, writing has gone to easy. all you have to do is to touch the keyboard. and sometimes, as you typed the word, a suggestion will also pop-up on your screen. however, with me here, i still used pen and paper, especially if i have an abrupt idea on my mind. as i need to log it down immediately before it passes away. and because of this, i can still write words properly.

I never had a good hand writing, but i use to write the words neatly on the paper. Still, i am writing documents in my office, and i write keypoints while collecting references for my writing tasks...etc...It would also increase your concentration if you write words calmly & neatly on the paper.
