Twitter Limitations

I am following around 2k persons in twitter, i tried to follow more and got an error message, i checked the terms and find standard users have the ability to follow only 2k members in twitter, i saw some persons have more than 20k followers as well as following lot of persons, i wonder how it is possible to certain persons? Why a standard user don't have the ability to follow more persons in twitter?

I'm not yet encountering this I am following 1600 people and 1800 who is following me, I also saw many people has more than 2000 following. This is a great discussions I will wait also some responses to have an idea. Thank you for sharing.

good to hear that you have 1.8k followers, really it is hard to gain more followers for me, in what way you get this much of followers? your followers are more than following, what is the secret?

Your doing good by following your followers, I simply promoting my account by inserting a hashtag "followforfollow" (f4f), "teamfollowback"(tfb), and many more so that your account will be noticed and for them to know that you follow back. If you done it instantly, you will get suspended for suspicious activity. But if you done slowly, once a week for following up to 50.

Using automated software to gain followers is not a good thing, i am not using this tactic. One of my friend give a great idea to me and get more followers using that tactic

I stayed more than a year in Twitter but until now got 35 followers only , but i love in twitter for i can shout as much as i can and no one knows me.
