"Pet peeves"

Just curious to find out from you all what and if you have any "pet peeves?" Some of my "pet peeves" are people at a store that bumped into you (with their cart) or they get in front of you without saying "Excuse me." Or another one is when you're waiting on an appointment and the receptionist is talking on their cell phone, laughing and giggling. I'm there for an appointment, not to listen to the receptionist talking to a friend on their cell phone. Anyway, enough of some of my "pet peeves," what are some of yours?

Oh, antiquelady I can relate to "grunters" or people that have every symptom anybody else has, yet there is nothing wrong with them. Also I agree with you on people who lie. I could never understand why people lie, I have a hard enough time remembering the truth, let alone the lies they have tell to keep up with the lies they've already started. lol

Today, I remembered another pet peeve, people not putting things back where they found them. If you found something, you know where it should go.

Some of mine have been mentioned. I think one of my pet peeves is when someone ask me if they can: example can i sit there? I'll say I don't know can you? Of course I'm talking about if the seat is already empty. I don't know why that bugs me but it does. Another one is when I'm going in a building and hold the door for the person behind me and they don't say thank you, that's just rude I think. Well that's just a couple of mine.

Yeah, that door thing. And sometimes they act like it was your job to hold it open for them. Makes me wish I had slammed it on 'em. I like the chair thing. Very funny. I suppose they mean is anybody sitting there but it doesn't sound right. I like your response to the question.

Oh, violann, you've got some good comebacks! The door thing is a pet peeve of mine too, especially if you are carrying something or you have a shopping cart.

Oh my I can go on and on about my pet peeves... I am tempted but I won't :) One of the biggest pet peeves is people cutting in and the people letting them cut in line. I hate it when you in line for minutes even hours then a guy just goes straight to the front of the line. What worst is when it's a group and not just a person. I also don't like that people are letting them cut in. I never let anyone cut in line in front of me. It's just unfair for those people behind. I am the person in line who is rambling on and on how unfair it is when someone cuts in line lol My friends are sometimes embarrassed about it but hey... I just want things to be fair.

Oh, I agree with you! My husband gets embarrased too. One time I was even asked to leave a store, because my husband and I were working out of town and we had a Walmart card to cash our check with and to put money on. We still had some money on it before. Well, we had to do some grocery shopping and we went to pay with their card and it said there was no money. We had done this before and it was always accessible to get it out. So, needless to say I was in no mood. We finally got a supervisor to "help" us and all he could say was he was sorry, but he didn't know what to do. Well, first of all, I've worked with the people and you don't just tell them they don't know what to do, you tell them you will see if someone else can help them figure out what to do. Secondly, I asked them where our money went? I guess I might have been outraged and was speaking loud, because people were looking at me and I was asked to leave the store. Another "pet peeve" of mine is when I could do a better job than the person I'm dealing with. lol

What I really hate is when I'm in the grocery store and 2 people are standing in the middle of the aisle, their carts side by side so nobody can get by and they just keep talking as if they were the only ones in the whole store. What possesses people to do that? If I'm stopping in the aisle to talk I pull my cart over to the side out of the way. But the one thing worse than that is the idiot in front of me that can't get by and just stands there waiting for them to move (like that's even about to happen) and doesn't have the intelligence to say "Excuse me". Usually I say (rather loudly and annoyed) "EXCUSE ME!" And then, as I'm going by, I smile pleasantly and say "Thank you". I guess I'm getting crabby in my old age.

Last night I saw some people having a good time in the park eating junks. A few minutes later, they were gone and they left their trash behind--obviously expecting maintenance to come and clean up for them. I don't know if that fits the technicalities of a pet peeve but I was so irked that I wanted to hurt those stupid people :D

To me, that is a "pet peeve" people who are disrespectful to other people's property. Besides, it doesn't take any more effort to pick their trash up than what it does just throwing it around. It also makes it worse for the people who do pick up after themselves. My husband and I went camping one time and we were using the restrooms, they had water to wash your hands with but no paper towels. We asked some local people why this was and they told us that out of state people had been abusing the paper towels, so they removed the paper towels.
