First of all I like to know what you mean by: aged people? What exactly is aged to you? Secondly: who says they have more practical knowledge? I think it all depends on the kind of people you know. Ever thought about that? There are plenty of "aged" (what ever that may be) people who are lectured as well.

We 'aged' people forgive you. How about using a more user friendly description, 'older people' or 'retired people.' It's good that you have learned to appreciate us. Incidentally, we never feel 'aged' in our hearts, it is just our bodies that add on the years.

Well to be very honest, when you are born human you are given with a gift from God called Brain that helps you to take decisions on what is right and what is wrong. People who make the best use of their brains subsequently become knowledgeable and intelligent and those who fail to do this stays behind the race. So knowledge has nothing to do with the age. Even elders commit mistakes and so do the children. What say?

i already mentioned , i didn't complete the writing part , due to my keyboard problem, the discussion got submitted, anyways, i know that god has give brain to each one of us, and we should it, but, elders are elders, they have see n more life than us, if they commit mistakes that doesn't mean that they are equal to children, if that's the case, then why do we go to our parents / teaches solve any problem , that's because we are inexperienced...and there are lot more things ..

Yes prashu228, You are absolutely right on this. Its because life is the real teacher and not books. Books give you examples and ways to cope with life. BUt practical knowledge goes very far in the real world and the understanding of how the world goes round.

prashu: what happened ? It is now midnight and you are still awake. what do you want to tell us? yes, aged people have more experience and they learn more. at the same time tolerance becomes less and hence they find it difficult to fit in to all groups. you have something else in mind. welcome.

Aged persons have more knowledge for their more experience and exposure to the world. Not only this, their rate of gaining knowledge is high because a person learns through probing the unknown through what he/she already knows. Only precondition is that he/she should have curiosity.

Oh yeah it really depends on the people you know i have seen old people with lot of book knowledge who are graduates and they have both book knowledge and of course they have practical knowledge too. I depends on person to person. Those people have not been to school don't have book knowledge but there are so may old people who are full of book knowledge. Have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi Prashu, As old people have lot of experience in life, from the childhood days what happen he/she knows the days are going on the experience is growing according to that.Bookish knowledge also good, but when it comes to real life or practical the things may differ. So practical knowledge of old people is more useful than the present booking knowledge, have a nice day.

Yes, it's true. Because aged people have already experienced life's great challenges! And that, they already knew on something where a bookish person have not tried before.

How old are you, prashu? There are all kinds of aged people as there are all kinds of young people. Experience is something one gets with age, but not necesarily instead of what you call "bookinsh knowledge".

hello mam, when a girl gets pregnant , she may read all kinds of books related to pregnancy, but when her mother ( any experienced lady)says/explains the the same, to her daughter, she understands it very thoroughly, as the mother knows the pain as she already went through it, no one can know the daughter so nicely ,the mother knows her in and out, but thats the case when she reads a book, what i mean is there is a difference when a mother explains her, and she reads a book for knowledge, so experienced people are always helpful they have knowledge.

Literally aged people knows a lot of things by experience. Life is a great teacher, therefore, the more aged we get the more knowledge we get.

Bookish? That's very funny. And by pratical knowledge you mean experience which is the observing, encountering, or undergoing of things generally as they occur in the course of time right? Well they have seen more in life and had a lot of experiences so its only normal to have that 'pratical knowledge you are talking about. Funny discussion though.do have a wonderful time mylotting friendz. Lux
