The biggest threat to Social Security and Medicare is the Growing National Debt

The Democrats keep running ads that indicate they are the ones that will help Social Security and Medicare. But actually their spend, spend, spend type of government that has grown the National Debt from $10 trillion to over $15 trillion in less than four years after Obama promised to cut it in half in 2009, is the biggest threat to both Social Security and Medicare. The other problem with this is that China holds much of this debt and if it keeps increasing at this rate, China will gain more and more control over the U. S. and at some point could wield great power over the U. S. just by threatening to call in the debt. Already this is the legacy of Obama and if he is elected for four more years, this will grow to a crisis situation.

It is utterly amazing that the US owes any debt at ALL. I mean, WE, the greatest nation on earth, the place that people flock to in droves DAILY trying to get a piece of this delicious pie, WE owe debt to other countries. Just MIND-boggling, and thoroughly depressing. I mean, I personally don't have room to talk, my finances have been in shambles for YEARS, but we are not talking about me here Don't even let me get started on the Democrats

Actually, Obama is correct if you look at the Romney economic plan. History shows that twice in the last 30 years our country has tried supply side economics (trickle down, or more accurately "Voodoo" Economics), and both times led to higher national debt. The first time this happened it was blamed on spending by democrats who derailed the grand Reagan dream. The problem was that the second time it was actually Republicans that spent like drunken sailors, and built an enormous debt. No one argues that if Romney is elected and can enact his economic policy the national debt will go up. The question is: If it worked like it did for Reagan, can you control spending? History shows us the answer to that is NO!!!! (Factcheck pointed out that part of that $5 TRILLION in debt was not spending, it was less tax money coming in, along with interest from two wars that were never paid for)

I wonder if this was done by Obama to make Americans poorer and get them to agree with his plans. He is also buying votes, that is by telling people they do not need to actually look for work to get welfare, and hinting on a race and class war. And of course to get the money needed for this and those green jobs, he borrows from China. Well China being a state run Communist country that means that if Americans protest against their human right violations, they get in trouble and so a they are supposed to turn a blind eye. So it is not that your grandchildren and great grand children will be burdened by massive debts they did not deserve, it is also that freedom is destroyed.

To me this election is all about race and class, an "us against them" type of thing. It is also a Biblical-based verses a non-Biblical based type of thing if one wants to get really deep into it. I'll be glad when the whole thing is over, it's almost worse than the 2008 election, if THAT is possible.

Suspense, how do you think we funded two wars during the Bush years? If you don't like us borrowing money from China for wars, or economic growth, than where to you think our country is going to get the money to fund Romney's economic policy? Every economics I have heard has said that it will take years for Romney's plan to start to work, but will cost many BILLIONS in the mean time because of the revenue lost because of his tax cuts. So we will have to borrow from China AGAIN. BTW, the number one threat to our national security right now is China. How do you go to war with a country that you borrow money from, they manufacture most of your products, and they have a BILLION man army? THIS should scare Americans more than our national debt!!!!

I agree. And this is all true. But so many people are in love with Obamacare. And this hopey changey thing seems to be working for him again. And his wife is a HUGE aid to him I believe. They truly are going to spend us into more of a disaster, but I think the other things they promise are so alluring, they are willing to look past that and hope it just doesn't happen.

you are right.national debt is serious problem for every contry even for my homeland.the biggest crises of you nation is wars.your country is spending billions of dollars every year on useless and some evil planned based wars.this should be ended and the saved money should be invested to pay off debts.china is doing which is useful for it.its your own duty to free your countries from debts and lobbies who are insisting your president on war.
