I wacoming home from work, when I saw an ambulance with its light on then noticed it was on fire.
The car infront of me, and me pulled over. The stretcher had got stuck and they were trying to get it out.
I sat with the old man while the fire department came and another ambulance.
But people just kept flying by at 100km an hour, not even moving over. I thought it ridiculous noone else pulled over, and offered help, and almost hitting us.

Since it is after 8pm and honestly there isnt much traffic. Sometimes you wouldnt see a car go by in 20 minutes. Tonight was fairly busy but the 4 cars that drove bby were flying by didnt move to the other lane. Which is actually illegal, I just dont understand how people couldnt at least pull over, or slow down until something happens than they have every excuse in the book.

You are such a good person to have stopped and stayed with the man while they were waiting for another ambulance to arrive. This is just the kind of thing that I would have done.
With that said, I think that there are far too many people in the world that are just always in too much of a hurry and that means that they don't take the time to realize that there are other people that are in need all the time.

hi Ricki I am proud of you and the other car for stopping. I just do not know why people do no want to help or get involved.Like
when I had a bad fall beside my favorite restaurant and hurt
myself badly . At least 20 people just stood around gaping at me as if wanting to see if I was bleeding I guess.but one older
couple came over to me and asked if I was okay.I tried to get to my feet by putting my hands down but my left arm just dangled and hurt oh
my G'it hurt so bad.so they call the paramedics and their grandson, all of maybe 12,stood by me,telling "lady grandmom called for help so don't you worry, you will be okay,Want some water.?"He brought me out a paper cup full of cold water.what a kid and what grandparents when the paramedics got there the couple were gone so later I thanked them with an article in the paper saying thank you to the elderly couple who with their d ear little grandson helped me by calling the Para medics and staying with me till help came. I tried to tell the Para medics that I thought my shoulder was just dislocated but they said no lets get you to ER and get you checked out.So it was a good thing they persuaded me as the x ray showed my shoulder joint was just smashed and it could not be set.I had to have surgery and have a shoulder joint replacement of steel and plastic, lol but what I was getting at is that a lot of people thought I was just fun and an amusement to see and nobody else even offered to help me . I was 80 at the time so not a young woman,.this was five years ago and I still seethose people just gawking like I was an actress play ing a scene I guess.people do not want to get involved

Hopefully no one was too terribly injured, was there anyone in the ambulance needing medical attention? That part I was unsure of. It's sad that people won't stop to lend a hand, especially when it comes to a broken down (on fire) ambulance.
