Right now I'm cleaning my files, and I'm planning to buy external hard disk.. So what external hard disk's brand is the best to buy, I don't want china's product because it easy to be broken. I need your suggestion and I'm new with "tera byte" external products.

Hi imAbigael I have been using external HD of trancend (250GB), and Seagate (500GB) for over 2 years. And there were nothing wrong with them ever, and I'm quite satisfied with them. But I do admit that I need 2 tera - it seems 750GB still not enough for me since specially I'm a movies collector

you are welcome ... well, I'm not suggesting this but there are some seller in here who offer their 1 tera / 2 tera second hardisk full filled by HD MOVIES . I was tempted to buy actually, but then I think it isn't good to buy second stuff if we coulnd't good enough to detect if there are any defect , rite? I hope you could find the best soon

One of the most reliable guides is to look at what people are actually buying (and the feedback that they leave). Amazon is a major and respected seller who happens to provide accurate and up-to-date information about what it selling best in a particular field: http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Electronics-External-Hard-Drives/zgbs/electronics/595048 The most popular brands are Western Digital, Seagate and Toshiba. Always look for the highest capacity drive which is within your budget, bearing in mind your particular needs. If you want a drive which is portable and which you intend to carry round with you, you will expect to pay rather more for a robust case, mechanics which are less liable to be damaged when in transit (with the ability to park the head when it is not in use) and a 2 1/2" rather than a 3 1/2" drive. If the drive will always sit on your desktop, then there is no advantage in paying more for a 'rugged' and light-weight drive. There is something to be said for buying from a reputable local dealer who supports the manufacturers guarantee. When hardware fails, it is much more likely to do so within the first six months. If you are able to easily return it to a dealer for replacement within the guarantee period in case of problems, then it can sometimes be worth paying a little more than the online price for that convenience (and, of course, to support local dealers).

I would suggest Seagate or Transcend. Also, go for the one with life time warranty. My external hard drive crashed and I got replacement with a new one due to the life time warranty.

I personally prefer Western Digital, Seagate and Iomega. All of this brands are reputed, have been around for a while, have good feedback, slick & portable and most importantly trusted. They always come up with better technology and unique designs. I recently heard about Silicon Power. From what I see, they should be good as well. They provide one of the best designs that I've ever seen. May give it a try. Here's a list of best 10 external hard drives: http://gadgetophilia.com/top-10-external-hard-drives/ Good day!
