Gardening - the best form of relaxation?

Hi, I have spent the last hour in the garden, trimming and weeding. I find it the most relaxing exercise and interest I have. Also it combines with being in the fresh air. I have a greenhouse and in the early Spring I start off my seeds for the garden and it makes me feel as though summer is just around the corner even if the weather is cold.

I like to raise flowers very much .since I live on first floor,I can only put them in the pots on my balcony,not to mention greenhouse.When winter set in,I have to move many of them indoors, such as flower of chu-lan tree (Flos Aglaiae Odoratae )and jasmine,even I cover them up with plastic bags.I envy you having your own garden.Flowers can beautify our environment and we can acquire a good knowledge of plant as we grow them.

Even people with gardens enjoy having pots on their balcony. It is great to be able to look after them during the winter without having to go out in bad weather to the garden. Perhaps you can find something that will flower in the winter to brighten up your balcony.

I feel jealous, as we have a garden, but working on it is hard for me, as my balance pays tricks on me. Keep on enjoying your garden and being out in the fresh air!

Thank you but don't be jealous it is better not to fall over. Perhaps you could have some pot plants on a wall or somewhere high so that you do not have to bend.

I loved gardening all my life, even when I was very little. There was just something about growing your own plants and vegetables.
When my kids were little and we had a house, I had a nice big vegetable garden in the backyard, plus I was always planting trees and flowers. I'd be out in the fresh air for hours and hours and it's the best therapy one could ask for.
Now I live in an apartment and only have my houseplants to keep me company along with my basil plant. I hope to move to an apartment that at least has a balcony so I could grow more plants and vegies.

Like me, Kashmerescat, you are not as young as you used to be. But work in the garden is hard and it takes a lot of time. I hope you find an apartment with a balcony so you can grow things again. Meantime you probably have a house of exotic plants to enjoy without having to do any weeding. Enjoy!

I do agree with you.
Everytime I feel down, I just get a shovel and start weeding off the grasses in my plants.
I love gardening even when I was still much younger.

Gardening is the best, i agree, i do it sometimes, we have small terrace garden, where we grow brinjal and some vegetables and also rose plants along with some crotons, i like to spend my time near the plants, just today i trimmed my rose plants, and removed some of the weeds , i also sowed some sunflower seeds recently, and the small plants are growing, i am waiting for the flowers curiously..

I love sunflowers and they seem to do well even if the soil is not very good. They grow very quickly too so I am sure you are going to enjoy watching them grow.

I enjoy gardening too, it's a joy to see the plant grow from a seed, it's wonderful to see a life grows. Just that I am always lazy to take care of the garden, especially when it's hot sun always, and I am taking care of my two kids. But I always like to let my 3 year old son water the plant, he enjoys it too. Also, it's a very good lesson to teach a kid to garden.

Wow,i believe you are very beatific,because you have planed a magic tree that can hold the four seasons in your garden.Enjou it.
When i have a house in the future,i hope it with a garden.Then every afternoon,i can read a book,listen some musics ,and trim the garden.How beautiful the life it is.
