But I have fears. A lot of people know that I have a moped, and am trying to sell it. A few of you have been asking me about why I am, and I was so happy / excited etc... Well A friend of mine told me, Don't do it, I don't want you on it. I never have ridden it, up the road and back, that's it. I'm still trying to sell it and hope I get some takers on it soon. My plan is, get $500.00 out of it, put that in a savings account and BAM keep it there, don't touch it, let it gain interest or whatever. THEN keep adding to it, little by little, every payment from here, other sites, a few bucks from my job. Before I know it I have $2000, $2500. I can get a professional to help me practice, take me to get the license and either before or after, I go, get a car, insurance, and am on the road on my own. I'll be asking for more hours of course, getting money and saving it when I Can. You want to know the sad part about it? the $1200 I spent on it, I could have been saving back, had a car by now, on the road... Sometimes, SCG, you are an idiot. So there ya are, that's what my story is on it.

I remember when you were first planning to buy the moped and how excited you were. Wondering how to go about paying for it. And now you wish you had by passed all that and gotten a car. That is how life is I guess. Hope you find a car you like and enjoy it.

I don't have to like the car, it just has to run. I'd have to get automatic, I can't drive stick, probably wouldn't practice stick for a very long time anyway. Yeah this is a big lesson for me, I may not be able to sell it, and well if so, so be it. I'm not going to let it bother me, but I have learned my lesson.

I don't like stick. Love my automatic! Well good that you have learned a lesson here. Hope you are able to sell it.

I would be one of those people you mentioned asking you why. I remember past discussions about you getting excited about buying this moped, so I was surprised to learn that you're selling it. I think you just proved that you can reach your goal if you set your mind to it, like buying the moped. It may look like a mistake getting it, but you could actually look at it differently: that now, you have a new goal which is buying the car. And you know you can reach that goal because you've proven it already.

Very true, I've proven it. It's harder now because I am not working as much but that is my choice. I am already studying things to further myself and my education, to open job prospects and I've proven I can do that as well. I'm looking into getting driving lessons again professionally and they can even take me to have the test done, in this way I don't believe I'll necessarily need a car right away. I'll have my license and have a reason to get the car. I just have to save for and figure out when (weather pending) is the best time to get this underway.

I have been excited about something in the past, then found it was more that I bargained for. I do not know if I should ask, but could the place you bought it re sell it for you? You might get more than the $500. Going into winter probably is a difficult time to sell a moped.

I have too much, I don't even know the word for it, but I don't want to resell it from the place I bought it. There are other places, but just can't get it over there. I'll have to keep trying the way I am, and if worse comes to worse it'll be a big regret and just sit there. It's a lesson learned anyway.

We live and learn from out mistakes. But you showed yourself you can save and buy what you want. A caar is a lot of money to keep on the road, I originally paid $14,000 for it, and pay at least $3,000 to keep it on the road not including gas a year.

I know that it can take a lot of money to keep a car on the road, some of the costs of the parts themselves are ridiculous, and they really jack up the labor on them as well. I may use some of my mylot earnings for Christmas, but most of it is going into savings so that I can accrue it. It won't take long if I forget it's there, I've done it before and I'll do it again.

Mopeds do seem like a cost saving vehicle. I know someone who bought one just because of that song about buying a moped. How come you don't like the moped?
