tmj problems

Does anyone ever had TMJ problems. I have had this now for 5 months and nothing has helped. I did exercies. used hot and cold on my jaw took muscle relex pills took took over the counter pain pills and i still cant open my mouth all the way. I quit chewing gum and nothing seems to help. Does anyone out there have any other ideas to help me with this. I been to my dentist and he said trying wearing a mouth guard.I did this also and this dont help either. How long does this problem last? If anyone out there can help me please respond to my post Thank you...

Most dental insurance does not cover TMJ treatment, I know that from reading. My friend's daughter had this and she finally got help from a chiropractor. You would need to call around to see if someone in your town treats it, but that was what finally helped Ramona.

You are right about that. I found out the hard way my insurance does not pay for TMJ either. I have been at a chiropractor 3 times and he never helped me so I quit going to him. Do you know how many times your daughter had to go and what kind of treatment he did to her.? I may have to fine a different Chiropractor.
