I awoke at 4 am because i heard a noise as if someone beats to my door. To be honest, i was so nervous at that time, but i heard my cat's meowing..then i turned on a lamp and opened the door...OMG, my cat was there with a rat...The cat did meowing out loud and saw me as if she told me: here, it is my gift to you..hix..A rat died already...I had to find a bag and put the rat to it because i don't want the cat eat it. Yesterday, there is 1 girl moving to stay in my cat's room. My cat is nervous to see strange people so that i let my cat and her kittens stay on the third floor and every time i have to climb a ladder if i want to see them in there. I don't know why a mother cat didn't bring the rat to the third floor where her kittens staying, she brought it to my room's door...as if she wants me know her present (a rat)...By the way, i really don't like to see her present much...

your cat is going to sweep all the rats around your house because she takes pleasure in doing so. I have seen the cats doing all this. If she find the snake she kill him with another technique. It is nice to see her technique there. Cat is hunter by nature.

That is a good thing that there are no snakes, because they can be dangerous sometimes. Have a nice day!

Yes, in cities, there are many rats and mouses, sometime i can see them run following a wall. I am very scared snakes and hope i won't meet them in here. This morning i climb to the third floor and see kittens, they are so active, running and playing ...i may leave them in there for 15 days and then i bring them back to the second floor because i have to train them to eat food before i send them all to my hometown.

you're cat is indeed very helpful. I really wanted to have a cat in our house to kill the rats in our house but unfortunately I don't have it now even just one :(. I have a pet and her name is Roxy she's a dog,. I like dogs as well but this time I also need a cat to eat the rats in our house. I think that is really a present a cat can give to you. Rat is indeed a pest. We don't want them in our house but sad to say that somehow they do exist and give head aches by eating our clothes, foods, etc.

oh, a dog can catch mouses also, my mom's dog often does it... Yes, it is very terrible when there is mouses in our house, better you should care a cat, mouses maybe gone when they hear a cat's meowing...

Some dogs can catch a mouse but some can't like my dog :(, it's not really like a cat that they really catch a mouse.

That is both adorable and disgusting at the same time! Thankfully both of my cats are strictly indoor cats so there's no chance of them presenting me with such gifts but I do recall one of my parents' cats doing similar acts of ...love so to speak. I suppose we should feel honored as pet owners when our cats decide to give such gifts but that certainly doesn't detract from how gross they are!

yes, i know...but i think in their mind, rats or mouse are their big gifts..that why i can feel she was happy to give me her gift...of course i don't like to see rats, mouses also...but i can't prevent her catching...I hope she won't bring more her gift to my door room in the early morning like that...

Sounds like she wanted to make sure that you were well provided for, since you are not a mighty huntress like her. My cats are strictly indoor beasts and, quite thankfully, have access only to pleasant gifts such as milk jug rings and crocheted squid toys. They do like to prove their mighty hunting skills with their toys--catching them and, then, loudly proclaiming their great triumph.

I am glad to know that you had a good cat who presented with such a lovely gift. These are the only some of the gifts the cats can give to us and this is the main motive why all of us have a cat in our home. I just allow my cat to eat the rat. The cat is caught only by the efforts of the cat and I wouldn't like to waste those efforts a wasteful one.

No, i won't let her eat a rat because i scare she may get disease and it may effect on her kittens also. Better i feed her boiled food only. However, if she didn't show me her gift and eats it then i might not know ...

What a good cat! She brought the rat to you because she knows you don't hunt for food so she did the hunting for you. My cats have brought me mice, a bird, squirrels and a worm. I didn't eat the worm. Yes, they truly love us. They want to make sure we are fed, just as we do for them.
