If the job is being that much a grief to want you resign and feel depressed I would definitely look for other jobs that you are comfortable with and pay the same if not more. You should find a new job easily hopefully, due to your work experience and expertise. I wish you all the best of luck and don't get depressed, my father is going through the same phase, his boss keeps attempt to bully him and other colleagues out of work due to the complete mess up by chief executives employing more people than needed, so its somewhat an attempt to bully people out of work. I hope your new boss isn't trying to do the same. Also personally I think your new boss is unprofessional as bosses should not pick favourites.

Well, I think if I were to hand a resignatiin letter it'll be what she hopes! I just don't want to be jobless if I resign...but given that I'll almost always in another towns for this current project which will last for 2 months, I cannot go on an interview for another job...Although I think I have to wait until this project finished first before looking for another job... I will try to cool my mind first because I don't want to regret the decision I make _

I think this normal in working environment. Your new boss want to replace you with her loyal subordinate. This is political at work place. I believe she must have somebody to cover her back side for some reason that's why she brought in her ex subordinate to join her. You can trap them if you rally smart and get cooperation with other staffs. You also can try to complaint about this to upper rank manager if you believe you got good reason and proof what they are doing is not at the best interest of the company. Hanky panky must there. Unless your old boss has a very weak performance when he's managing your department, then you better find another job instead cause the defect at your side. Alternatively you can contact your old boss story tell to him/her to get your place under him again in his new company, that might help a lot.

Well it's good if you have made decision to stay. I suggest you to make better recording all of your activity in the office, the document handover or submission properly because someone is waiting for you to make a mistake. So, if you work smart, you can counter attack. I'm the kind that reflect aggressive when get hit. :)

Life is too short, why spend it somewhere which makes you unhappy. I quit my job years back when I just couldn't stand it any longer, my manager treated me like a child, and was very patronizing and unkind, I stuck the job out for 13 months and it got to the stage where I was watching the clock all the time, wishing my life away and being around people that made me uncomfortable. I would have sleepless nights and my health suffered. I thought to myself, why am I doing this? Why should I be somewhere when I am so unhappy? It's only a job, so I handed my notice and walked out, do you know it gave me added confidence, got rid of the dark cloud hanging over me and I felt so much better for it, I never ever regret what I did, apart from regretting I didn't do it sooner. Your health MUST come first, so must your sanity.

If you really cannot stand being with your boss, just think about this: Many are jobless! You should look for a new job first before rendering your resignation because it really is not that easy to look for a new company. Good luck to your endeavors and for the time being that you're still with that boss of yours, just be patient!

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, now a days lot of jobs are available with online interviews, just register your self with job sites and attend the online interview with your confidence, surely you will select from it and get a proper job, it is really hard to work with this kind of boss as well as don't quit your job before getting another good one, so attend online interviews and apply to various jobs using online sites. All the best

When you are geting so much troubed and distressed by the job you are holding then just get aside from that. yopu have to be fresh in mind and happy in hart to live your life. Your mild deression will ten to become a hard one if you soon donot think of any other option or say another job. You have to search for another job. you will loss all your confidence and creativity if you carry on like this. so i suggest you to search for a new job and leave the place for such a boss who cannot includ a new subordinate in her group. all the best

I have been where you are so I totally understand, I even wrote an article on the subject. I worked for a company happily for 6 years until they brought in this woman and made her my boss. She made my life a living nightmare, I was depressed all the time and always wondering what she was going to yell at me about next even though I never actually did anything wrong. I finally had to quite to save my sanity and it was the best thing I could have done. I ended up getting another job where the boss just thought I was the greatest and it was such a nice feeling to be appreciated. If you can handle it financially for a few months then don't sit around there and be treated badly any longer, it will never get any better, people like this are toxic. You could also try to get moved to a different department inside your company but if you can not then don't sit around and take this person's horrible treatment any longer, just make sure you have as much money saved up as you can before you quit.

Working with this boss who it seems has some personal and not job related concerns with you is really difficult. Outright resignation however is not the best solution if you are not financially able to stay jobless for a month or more. Why not make use of the internet in finding a new job as this is the trend now. You only will need to report once you are called for interview etc. If that time comes then think of valid reasons for begging off from work. Meantime, just do your best. Good bless and good luck.

Hi randomarts! You know finding a good job nowadays is really hard. With the competition around and so forth. If you said that your new boss seems to have favoritism, why not make friend with his/her favorite? Just to make it clear to her that you and your boss are of separate and distinct from each other. So she can relay it to her boss. But then if this is not possible, why not request for a transfer in other department perhaps? Make resigning as your last resort. And if you decided to resign, try to look for a new job first. Have nice day!

I have told this to my old boss and he told me to try to ask to be moved to another department. This might be worth to be tried before I decide to resign. Thank you for the suggestion.

Ob this is a very bad situation. I mean if you stick to this job, it will affect your health and health is the biggest wealth. I think when you are confident that you will get a job within 3 months then you should quit. Decide and don't get worried please. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
