how can you earn from a website?

I have been thinking of putting up a website that i could monetize. I have a particular interest on natural home remedies and since this is something that I enjoy writing about, I was contemplating on putting up one soon. Any ideas how it may be possible for a niche website to land good on google search? What's the best way to monetize a website like this?

hi,
when i was first here in website earning i only new is the mylot only but of course many friends here in mylot told me about some website that i can earn,so i went and joined and now i have been addicted to participate for the cents of earning.
