Are we sincere in myLot

When I move through many of the discussions, I really wonder if we are sincere in many of the topics that we write or responses we post. I think many people just cook up things like I am having a bad life, my partner cheated etc etc. i feel people do it so that others would start responding and they have any discussion going on. Do share your views on the same.

I noticed that too. I chanced upon an account who has inconsistent identities in his topics. One topic he said he is a student then another topic says he is working and hates his environment. Which is which?haha! I just ignored and understood why he did it. Honestly, I based my posts and responses according to my personal experiences simply because I couldn't state facts or opinions if I don't know all about it.

Maybe he's both a student and has a job ;)

Even I have noticed such people who have such dual activities. But in this case, it is quite possible. But at some cases I have seen people who are bachelors and still talk about their grandchildren. I dont know how that is possible.

Indeed many situations can be justified, as is clear in the example above. When a user is being ambiguous just for the saking of posting, they will usually not last long here and will not gain many friends either.

Well, I say! What if I wanted to share my views on something totally different? Well I suppose then I'd be like a few here. I do agree that when I first started it seemed like a few discussions were made soap opera like tales, just to get money. However, atleast now, it seems people are more at home with each other and more sincere. That isn't to say there isn't a few "cry wolves" still lurking around here.

I think that is something even i noticed. Five years back when i was very active here, many discussions seemed silly. But now mylotters have become more serious and responsible.

i think that's only up to each user to decide.

Ofcourse mylot does give users their share of freedom. Nobody is banned here because he is lied. It is upto user if he wants to speak truth or just post for the sake of posting.

I wonder if you have been reading though older posts and that caused you to start this topic. If that is the case then I must make a confession I didn't really borrow those toys that someone here keeps asking me to return. I had no reason to borrow them as I have enough of my own

I dont think you have to make a confession. But I really appreciate your open mind. people do lie once in a time to get things moving, in life as well as mylot

Part of my amusement here is reading through posts from so many different types of people. Most I find them quite sincere; but every now and then I have my doubts as the posts seem a bit off the wall... But as I said, that's part of the fun...

Even I enjoy that part a lot. Different people share their happiness, sorrows and feelings here. I think people are more involved here than any other social networks.

I appreciate your sincerity. I think even though many people joined initially with a view of money making, mostly are here because they enjoy the environment. We dont get such a proactive meaningful social network in the web these days.

I always wondered if anonymity makes a person bolder. How come is it when talking to strangers it seems people will confess things they will not even talk to their families about? Then there is the other side, because no one knows who you really are, unless it is a friend on mylot for instance that you know in real life, so it is possible to create a character, I am certain there are people that join to just cause mayhem. So how sincere are people on mylot, only the individual person knows that.

You have put in a new perspective in this regard. People open up when their anonymity is preserved. In mylot , there is a very few things that we know about a person.

Well, I don't post something here that it's not really true. I don't respond to discussions that I don't relate with or something that I don't have a real experience about it. I don't post something that's not true or I don't post just for the purpose to start a new discussion or just to respond to something. All in all I am sincere in everything that I have posted here. But I guess, we cannot expect everyone to be like that. Right?

Yes you are very precise about that point. Even though we might be sincere, we cant expect the other person to be so. but it shouldnt affect us much since they dont affect our lives in any ways. We can chose what we want to be, rest leave to them.

I am happy that you present your true self in mylot. People here do give constructive suggestions about many issues including personal ones. Infact most of the times we dont bother if a person is lying or not, if there suggestion helps us, that is most important.

Here, as well as in real life, people don't always say the truth. Saying always the truth isn't necessarily a quality. You can end up hurting people you love for no reason. That's why some lies are called "innocent". On the other hand, it's regrettable, but there are also people that lie to their teeth. However, I'd say most of us are somewhere in between.

I think you just spoke for most of all. We are no saints that we only speak truth. But we try to lie to the minimum extent possible. At times we have to lie to save our skins. Otherwise we try to be true.
