hi guys I just updated the notifications of mylot. It is that by default everything was subscribed for and now I have unpicked the notifications that I don't want. I know it was very irritating to have all those thousands of notifications in the inbox. mine was like flooded and needed to control it. Then I went to preference and tried to take off those I don't need. are you having the same problem? Did you fix the problem? Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi ! It is good to know that you found out the way to control inflow of mylot notifications. Hope now your inbox would not clutter with unwanted notifications. I have also opted for receiving selected notifications. Also, I do not keep the notification 'ON' for each and every friend in my list (which tells me about their new discussion). I do it selectively. The reason being I can not attend to each and every discussion of friends due to lack of time.

yes. We get notifications from all friends in case we have not exercised the option Notification off. Everybody will be exercising that option to limit the discussions. It is because some members post per day 10 discussions -- there is no limit-- at the same time. if they post one per hour then it is fine--in their anxiety to complete the quota they have in mind -- they post all together. We have a lot of friends. We have to respond for others then only they will respond for our discussions. So I take one or two per friend and respond.

I also found out the hard way - I was in danger of missing important emails because I was overwhelmed by Mylot activity. I take more care now and I have discovered that there is a little box under discussions where I can check out what my friends have written recently.

Hi riya, In fact I am happy with my mylot notifications. I don’t have many friends so without mylot notifications my inbox get deserted. I really worry if the notifications are not coming to my inbox. Even if I am not participating much in mylot recently, I am quite happy with the notifications on friend's topic and mylot digest. It is just like, somebody is caring, even if am not spending time for it.

if you are referring to the notifications from mylot friends, no, i dont turn them off. id rather flit through them to find out if theres a discussion i can respond to. i figure why have a friend if im not going to at least see if they have something to say. if i dont want to participate with one i delete them. this isnt FB.
