If I were a boy...

I wouldn't fall for dumb girls. Of course i'll get attracted to their physical appearance but from the time that we converse and i sense that she's an empty shell, I would definitely not go out with her again. From the time i started having a crush in my teens, i only get attracted to those men who are smart and funny. I can only be friends with those who have a below average IQ but i could never imagine spending the rest of my life with them. So if i were a boy, i think i would still be the same. I'll only get attracted to women who are smart and funny as well. Someone i can converse with freely until the wee hours of the morning. But not too smart that she'll do all the talking. She must be humble as well and own up to her mistakes from time to time. Someone who won't put me down but make me feel like i'm the smartest person on earth too.

That's nice of you to be grateful. You are blessed to experience both.

Thanks Toni, these days the monetary considerations come first. In India many men get attracted to wealthy women. The qualities of girls and kindness, compassion are not weighed at all.

@sathviksouvik I never thought people interact with me for monetary reasons. And it's disappointing to read people's values going down because of money.

@toniganzon Thanks Toni, the only I interact with you more than many people is because you have a golden heart. I dont have any monetary relationship with you, nor I have any other vested interest. In India, these days values are going down. There is a rat race where everyone wants money and nothing else.

Hi toni! Quite interesting discussion. I loved it. You say - If you were a boy, you won't fall for dumb girl. Does it mean that there are many girls who are dumb and may be hollow inside (except their physical beauty). So if you were a boy, you would have looked for smart and funny girls. I think everyone (who is a boy) will hold the same view. But the problem is - every girl can not be smart and funny, due to so many reasons. Your desire that - "Someone who won't put me down but make me feel like i'm the smartest person on earth too.". Had you been a boy, you would have first tell the girl that she is the smartest, then only she would say the same for you. Last but not the least - grass on the other side looks greener .........lol! (to each one of us).

I have not heard about dumb blonds (nor I have come across any). May you get the best one, if you were a boy.

OH aren't you aware there are a lot of dumb girls? If there are a lot of dumb men, there are a lot of dumb girls too. Have you ever heard of dumb blondes? There are a lot of women who are very shallow and their only concern is their physical appearance. I have met a lot of that. That's why as a man, i only want the best of the crop because i wouldn't like settling for anything less.

So that's your type if you were a boy, Toni. I guess for me, if i were a boy i would fall for a girl with pretty face and a sexy body. As to brains, an average will do, as long as she knows how to make me laugh. I like girl with a sense of rumor.

Sense of humor is important to me too D. But a woman who's not smart won't have that humor at all! So wit actually is a sign of intelligence. It's still about the brain!

Yes Toni i agree, for you to be able to carry out a joke , even if the joke is in you, it means that you have at least some brains.

some guys like being a father figure who leads, protects, provides, instructs, disciplines so that you depend on them for everything. they tend to go for those who are younger, less educated than them and have less financially. the problem arises when the woman eventually matures and outgrows them, usually around the time she graduated and got a job and the kids are grown and she wants a life for herself, instead of being just a wife and mother. some women, though, have native intelligence even with limited education. they're observant, quick to learn, have other talents and skills or business sense. i know my mother is like that, but she's limited by her old-fashioned conservative upbringing to always defer to my father as head of the house and decision-maker. she only speaks up (or flares up) when things have gotten worse so it's too late. same with guys. sometimes, i'd prefer people who know about the realities and practical things in life to bring me down to earth instead of the world of books and ideas. that's why when i'm waiting in line or while in some office, i make myself chat up strangers and usually learn something from them.

You made some good points and interested argument . My grand mother always treat my grand father as the head , she would let him make all the decision even though she is more educated than he is. She is very old fashion and she will not change but none of her children are like that .

sadly we can't choose our parents and how we are raised while we were children, so you're fortunate. but in the process, we also learn from them and decide what we want and don't want when we become adults. we can also learn from those different from us or share what we know to them.

If I were a boy , I would chose a girl to love that love me , I would not care about her brain just her heart and action counts . Ill be attractive to kind heart girls that will take care of me when I am sick . Someone that makes me smile when I wake up with good sense of humor , who enjoy my company. I chose with me heart so if I were a boy I think I would still be the same

A good sense of humor is a sign of intelligence. A friend once told me that he knows i'm smart because i have wit and one can only have wit when one has intelligence. It's still all about the brain working.

It takes a smart boy to get a smart girl. And that is not as easy as it seems. As I´m a smart girl (or was; now I´m an ol´ witch) I got myself a boy that was smart, generous and with good looks. The only big thing in which he failed was in dying before I did.

I'd definitely, without a doubt, be just like you. A nice girl would be great too. I wouldn't fall for a girl with great looks but with no brains. I have learned even when I was still a teenager that I know I would choose someone who I can talk to and have lots of ideas to talk about even when we grow older. That's a lot better than just having someone by your side, whose beauty would soon fade away, and can never get a smart word out of her mouth. But sadly, a lot of guys would still fall for this type of girl. And then they'd realize later how stupid their decision had been.

ahah im happy that you would still be the same as you are as a girl. its just sad that most part of guys are not so sensitive like you would be if were a boy. anyway i think you are right. funny people are always amazing friends^^ i dont usually like people that are way too serious. i like guys that make me laugh all the time

Most of us will agree to that---choosing smart people over the "not so smart". I am not discriminating people but I do not get the enthusiasm talking to people that do not or rarely respond to what I say. I am sure you understand me by that. I'd rather have my mind stimulated whenever I talk to a person.

I can't imagine talking to someone who will only give me a response like 'ok' 'duh', etc. It's such a turn off.

If you were a boy you would not be the same since boys and girls think different. YTour brains work different, your hormons work different. Boys are raised different, society is looking and treating them different which means you are growing up different and have different point of view when it comes to the opposite gender.

You're wrong. If i were a boy, i would exactly be what i said i would be because my brothers are like that too. I think it's because we were raised knowing that we won't be attracted by just a mere pretty face. And i know what i want in life and that's what i always try to get and i always get it.

I never think about it but now that this is brought up if I was a boy, I would pick whatever girl felt right. I think that too many people put expectations on the person they are supposed to be with and could easily have passed up the love of there life. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes people just fall in love. There is a saying that you don't choose who you fall in love with, it just happens.

Love is not all about emotion. I'm a woman who always get turned off by dumb people. So it's really impossible for me to fall in love with someone just by their looks. I see beyond that. I'm already married and i'm glad i have both my heart and mind in place when i chose him!

If I were a girl I will choose those ladies that has a quality that I considered endangered species. I am not very particular with the beauty but for her being different from all women in the world. I am wondering what would be her qualities
