MyLot has improved my writing skills.

Can anyone else say the same? I always hated English class, but being in college now, and currently taking a college class, the need to write well has increased. I haven't been apart of MyLot for more than a few days, but I have already noticed my writing skills have increased. I suppose the idea of getting paid for well written, intelligent posts and conversations was motivation enough to get me to write. And the more I write, the better I get. Practice really does make perfect. And money really does talk. Haha!

indeed... I also have similar experience. english is not my mother language, so I would say that I'm not really good in English. but after join in mylot, we have to communicate only in English here, so I have no choice except learn how to write English well here. and see, I think my English is one step better than before...

Your English certainly seems very well! I've always wanted to learn another language. Maybe the best way for me to do that would be to join a site that speaks in just that language. Ha. It sure seems to have improved your skills a good deal.

MyLot is a good venue to practice writing skills, that i have to agree. it is a good attitude to see it this way, too. there are other writing sites you can be a member of and be paid. how about that motivation?

Just the motivation I need! haha. Do you know of any other writing sites that actually pay? I have always loved to write, but I often get distracted, procrastinate, get writer's block, or just plain fear writing a bad piece. I know the more I practice, the better I get. But I often feel the need to write the most amazing piece, or why bother in the first place. But I would love to know of what other writing sites you know of that pay. I know a few that don't pay.

Hi, i like your posts and i would also like to add that not only MyLot have improved our writing skill MyLot have also change attitude. Things that seems matter to us sometimes are posted by some other Lotters too and we then know that we are all the same no matter where and which country we are in. Those who are aggresive mostly will turn milder after getting advise by other Lotters.

I'm not sure if it has changed my attitude, but it certainly is very nice to know that other people around the world feel the same way about certain issues or topics as we do. It's nice to know you can have something in common and connect with someone else, even when where they come from may be completely different than where we come from.

Just merely listening to english teachers talking about theories of communication, noise, sender and receiver would not help you that much if compared to applying it. The more you write, the more will your english comprehension increase.

I agree completely! And applying it in class/school, isn't the same. And it certainly doesn't mean you learn anything. Being told what to write and how exactly to write it and everything, what exactly does that teach? Damn near nothing. At least in my case. Maybe that's why I've always hated English class so much.

I am not sure if it has improved my English but i think it certainly helped to improve my typing speed. moreover, you make a great point since it is a great chance for people to increase their skills, be it typing speed or English skills. This is a great place to do so. Also, people can get informed about more things than they normally would come across since there are so many users from different parts on mylot.

I guess for some, but not for me. I always have a hard time knowing where the commas go. In fact, I bought a book on English grammar. As for my typing skills, I guess they are way better now. I noticed that I can answer 20 or more discussion in less than 35 minutes, not too bad. And yes, money talks.

Good to hear that you noticed your improvement. Yes, you may have made some improvement, but you still have to practice more. To tell you the truth, I have fund several mistakes in your post. So, here is the tip: you'd better profread your article by yourself and then let other read your article. Usually outsiders notice your mistakes easily. Happy mylotting!

Yes i can say and i am sure many more will say the same :) I am not very familiar with English language, its not used commonly at my place, but i want to learn it. I have not found a suitable english classes or such learning program here. I am just trying it by reading and writing as much as possible. Mylot helped me a lot in this regard as i can express myself in whatever english i know and somehow people understand it.

I personally don't much care to be perfect at writing. For the most part I do not need to look at the keyboard unless typing a password, and that's because I do not want to have to type it 400 times if I type the wrong letter, and sometimes I have to look at it when I'm thinking of what to write next, but you will improve more and more every day. And best of luck on your goal!
