i am this kind of person that cannot dare to use public toilet. i can share an experience way back then before. my tummy ached after eating so to suffice my hunger. i needed to dispose. my tummy so really aching and imagine how far is our place to my school distance. and i need to wait for public vehicle to depart (must have full seating of seats of commuters). plus it needs to stop as the people need to stop at their place. gee, there was nothing inside in my mind but this horrible feeling of very much discomfort. so until it reached an hour to arrived home and did what i want to do. so that is all. one thing i cannot dare to use in public toilet is that most of it are dirty and that i cannot bare to smell those stench and bad odour of that place. also, even if it is clean, i cannot have all the comfort more if there are people rushing around the place and do their businesses . i just cannot fart - oooppsss - in the midst of the crowd what about you? are you public toilet user or need to wait to reach home to have all the comfort you needed

While studying in school- - you do not use the toilet means you store for nearly 8 to 9 hours and it is not good. A certain way of tolerating school toilet may be advisable. I know school managements do not give importance for this. it is probably because number of users are more and they do not spend for cleaning materials. probably some employees who are in charge of it do not work well. In places like tamil nadu , India problem is one of lack of sufficient water. that is why it is difficult for women to travel in buses long distance -- toilets in common places like bus stand are not maintained well. We use to go to a good hotel where toilet is maintained well. The discomfort of postponing it for one or two hours is very cruel. may be child/student has to plan very well for this.

you are right at that sir... in our place, water is not the major problem but i guess, the people itself who used the toilet. sometimes i may got annoyed with them for as you follow after they used it, they cannot even pour (not water sealed) and cannot throw the napkins, etc. to the proper trash can. gosh, sometimes they may urinate on the floor and cannot even wash it with water. that is why i can tell that public toilet so dirty... thanks :)

For several years I could use only public toilets, so after some time I had to get used to them - I lived in a student hostel for years where many students shared the bathroom. At school and at work I also had to visit those toilets, it's hard to keep it for 8-12 hours especially as a woman. But at least these toilets are visited by a limited number of people only... I really hate the ones in the street which are not cleaned and yes, I try to avoid them. Just when you travel long distance by public transportation there is no choice. At the malls they are usually clean enough, so if I can, I rather choose those.

You are right. I always bring hand sanitizer and some extra toilet paper to minimize the chance of picking up germs... for some reason those toilets seem the dirtiest that we have to pay for using A face mask should be part of the survival kit too

:) a face mask that could cover your nose as well... wow... be brave to enter that place or else you will suffer for the consequences if you do not pay attention to your body's need like to urinate or even to pacify your feeling when you want to dispose the dirt inside your intestine :D gosh hehe

yes, exactly you will have no choice but to use public toilet or commonal property. well, just use some methods to clean it first before using it to avoid greater stake exposures of yourself to germs and to any dirt. well, what made the situation worst is that, the user itself could not know how to clean the toilet after using it and that if everyone has to discipline themselves like caring it as their personal belonging, there, we could not encounter any problem in proper sanitation. thanks for joining in here :)

In emergency I used public toilet but I feel uneasy when go there because public toilet is not clean more dirty. I not understand the general person who is going there why not puts the water properly for cleaning it. They not throw the water and leave it dirty.

surekha: probably in Nagpur there is no water shortage. In places like tamil nadu we face water shortage. One has to ensure that water is coming in the toilet and then only start using it.

i hate public toilets and would avoid at all costs, but when i got pregnant with my first little one i quickly found i didn't have the luxury of refusing public toilets, i had to simply resort to not sittin on the seats or touchy the door handles. i was disgusted by how many women i saw come out the toilet without washing their hands! they weren't even embarrassed either. And the states some people leave the toilets in. shocking!

hi there :) uhmpt! hating toilets could not pacify to relieved the feeling to dispose our dirts inside our body ;D the situation will give us another choice to choose to so whether we like it or not, we need to use or face the shame if cannot control ourselves. agree with you that we need to wash our hands after using the toilet. i hate to touch with trash bins and doors into it. so i used my foot to open the cover or the bin and for pushing the door. :)thanks

Well, it is more than obvious that our toilets at home, it is much more comfortable than a public toilet. However, you are right even on your second point of view. The public toilets, even in my country, are dirty, smelly and poor hygienic conditions. This also blame the people who keep them so, because as they say here in Italy "is not their stuff." If we all had a little more respect for public services, such as private ones, then we can live much better. By this I mean everything is explicitly public.

Yes we have to use the public toilet if we really need to go but I choose toilets of malls. They are guaranteed to be clean because they are maintained by staff. I just bring a moist towel and wipe the seats first before using it. Squatting is only beneficial if the bowl is really like dirty.

yeah, hi there i do squatting and brought some tissues with me. yes, in the mall much better situation of sanitation compared public toilets outside. but still, when lots of people rushing in, well, it cannot be avoided to get the place dirty. i guess, the problem would be at stake to users. improper sanitation would be minimized if people would know how to discipline themselves for that. thanks for some outviews here :)

I also avoid public toilets as far as possible. If I have to use one, I don't sit on it and give it a good clean before I have to use it.

yes, if your will just urinate, you need to have a squat position in order for you not to have a direct contact to the bowl. gosh... very awkward feeling and uncomfortable... but never to dispose in there, wish as i possibly can... thanks for responding in here :)

ok, as you told about your problem ,i mean it by your thinking that most of the public toilet are dirty and not clean very much , but some time we have to use them because the situation is not if fevour of us ,because when the urine and toilet come then it can not wait for that moment hence we go for those who are very near us to the public toilet so that we feel relax after using them , so do not wait for home and other substitute for this , go their nearest place...

indeed, if it is not really necessary to pee or to poop, why cannot we wait to reach home to these things in our house where we can seek comfort in using this place for us. whew! but there were times that it required us to use this in public so we have no choice but to suffer our little amount of time rather to face shameful matters when accidentally we pee or poop in our pants for controlling these because we do not want to use public toilets. ;) thanks for joining in here :)
