A friend of mine has no job for eight years now and his main reason is he is looking for a job that is suitable to the course that he graduated on. Problem is that its already eight years since he graduate and still don't have a job until now. And worse is that theirs some clerical jobs but he don't want to apply or take simply because he is a computer science graduate and he don't want to apply for a job that only requires high school graduates or college level applicants only.

I don't mean to be mean, but seems like your friend is perfectionist type and kind of cavalier People like him will never accept when he got a job in accordance with what he wanted but it turns out that his boss had lower education than him. He had to learn that not all bachelor should immediately get a good job. Every caterpillar should chrysalis before becoming a butterfly

Your friend should have known from the start that in every thing in this world, we should start at the bottom. I also know several people with the same story. They graduated in college yet they are very choosy when it comes to work and suddenly end up as jobless for years. Well, we have our own philosophy in life and most often those things are the very reason for us to fail. I hope your friend would change his philosophy for good.

Is there anyway possible he can go back to school to get renew his skills since computers and technology are always changing? My brother has an Associates Degree in Computers and is now working towards his Bachelors in Computers and when he is done with this he may go on for his Master's Degree. Has he tried applying for these clerical jobs to see if they would consider him because I know from personal experience that some employers will not hire you if you are very well educated. I have a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Studies and cannot find a job in my field, but I have applied to other places and will not get hired because I am too educated.

He constantly attend seminars to be update with what is new but my point is that why not just apply for some lower jobs while you are waiting to get hired for your dream job. Me I will going to accept any jobs that is available and hope that I can work.
