I have 10.18 dollars in my paypal, and paypal states my available balance is 7 dollars, which I can't withdraw 10.18 dollars, is it the new rule in paypal to leave 3 dollars as balance in my account? Please help.

As far as I know no such minimum balance to be retained. i have now $9.13 and I wanted to remit to my bank account. I was told by the site that minimum transfer is $10. Your balance must be less than 10$. please check up.

jUST NOW I got an email stating that $9.31(not 9.13) was sent through automatic withdrawal to my bank account as at the end of sept.25, 2012. while applying automatic withdrawal (India) minimum balance is not insisted upon.

Based on the rules @ paypal, there is a minimal withdrawal amount. For Malaysia, it is RM40/- which is equivalent to $13.33. Also there is a RM 3/- fee if you withdraw less than RM400/-. That is probably why it says that only 7 dollars is available for withdrawal. I took the liberty of looking at your profile to see where you are from - the balances differ by country. You can find all that information from paypal: https://www.paypal.com/my/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-withdrawal-fees-outside I hope that helps clarify it. It is probably more worthwhile to leave the amount there and use it to buy things from ebay or wait until you reach the RM400/- limit before you withdraw.

Yes. the rules differ from country to country. You belong to Malaysia and the rule relevant for you is quoted by our friend. pl see that. In India we cannot keep the money overnight in paypal account as per RBI regulations. I think no such restriction in Malaysia. you can retain and then draw afterwards or use it for payment.

Hi, Usually, "available balance" is the money in your account that is available for you to withdraw. The balance remaining would be funds which have yet to clear...in other words, a payment you are due to receive that is not yet finalised. My suggestion would be to wait a few days and soon the money will be available.

I know they have this rule for new paypal accounts that they will be withholding the funds for 21 days, but I am not aware of anything like what you have experienced. I have never experienced it before so I guess contacting them is the best thing to do.

I haven't encounter such incident in my paypal account. When I do some withdrawals I only make it whole numbr. I leave the cents to my account. I guess in your country you have some restrictions or pending transaction.

wongchoiyee It's frustrating when things like this happen...and especially if you can't figure out what is going on. You stated they show a balance of $7..is it possible they have not yet credited the extra 3.18 to which you are refering?? Contact them...I wish you a speedy solution to your problem...

I never have this problem but of course as soon as paypal emails me that I have money I transfer it right into my bank account. Sometimes though there is a certain amount you are aloud to withdraw and it can't be an odd amount. I hope you get this issue taken care of soon.

The difference may represent the charges which PayPal make to transfer money to your bank/credit card. Go to PayPal and look for the 'Fees' link on the page (at the bottom of the page, I think.)

That is quite strange , I have never done a PayPal withdrawal but if that's a new rule that would not go well with anyone . As others suggest contact them for further details.

I have never had that problem, but I think that I have never withdrawn my full balance from paypal. Still, the best way is to write a support ticket. There must be a reason for it.

That is kinda unusual. I hope you have sent them an email about this incident so that you'd exactly know the reason behind what happened to your account. Just like the rest, I have not encountered such issues with my paypal account.

I recently shopped all my money in paypal. What's left is 1.50 pesos only which is barely even a dollar. So I don't think they changed the rule. If they did they should at least send us an email to inform us about it right?

My guess is that the three dollars that you could not withdraw is in a currency other than US dollars. That is the only logical explanation I can think of for the situation you described. I have Pound Sterling and Malaysian Ringgit in my PayPal account which I could not withdraw unless I convert them into US dollars.

hi there wongchoiyee, with reference to your query, there are times paypal sets some restrictions according to countries. i think it will be best if you can email them to have a better understanding of the process. aside from that, you can proceed with your withdrawal as well.
