What is Arsenal's Chance This Season?

Arsenal FC started the season on a poor note with two straight goal-less draws. However, those initial two matches were followed by a two nil win against Liverpool and Anfield and a six goals to one thrashing of Southampton at Emirates stadium. Earlier today, the team played a good match and drew one all against the defending English premiership champions, Manchester City, at Ethihad Stadium. It seems the players are now more purposeful and more hungry to succeed. Arsenal, I feel, can no longer be perceived to be a team built around a single player (reference to the way Robin van Persie single-handedly lifted the team to the third position last season). In fact, the departure of van Persie and Alex Song hasn't affected the team badly. The new players signed for the new season (Lukas Podolski, Santi Carzola and Olivier Giroud), on the average, are doing well. The icing on the cake is that Gervinho has put on his "goal-scoring" boots again! My question is, how far can Arsenal go this current season? Please share your opinion on this subject.

It's a good start for Arsenal, because so far they have never experienced defeat. Indeed, at the beginning of the season Arsenal had doubts because they can only draw the game early, but in the third game against Liverpool they played well, and the role of their new players like Podolski saangat Cazorla and useful for Arsenal. They became the motor Arsenal victory. I think the extent to which Arsenal can survive with good results, it depends on their consistency in play.

I agree with you absolutely that consistency in play will be key if Arsenal want to succeed this season. I watched the match against Manchester City and was shocked by the good chance Gervinho failed to convert, it was disheartening. The good news is that, the mid-field has been reinvigorated and the defence is doing better than before. I pray that the attack may become sharper. Go Arsenal, go!

After the first two score-less draw, the media and critics came out with their knives, claiming for Wenger's head and pointing to a season of doom without RvP. However, two victories, they said on hindsight, the two draws were good result. And now, after holding the champions at their home ground, Arsenal become one of the title favorite. The media circus goes on. Based on the performance thus far, they sure looked an improve team. But the problem with Arsenal is the injuries record. When they have their first team available, they are very good. But as the season progress, they seems to be hit by injuries. If they can avoid that this season, then their chances looks good.

I am part of the fans who were disappointed and felt the die was cast after the first two matches ended without the team scoring a goal. However, things have since changed for the better since the third match against Liverpool at Anfield. That match marked the turning point for the better for Arsenal. I pray that the team keeps up the good run.

It has been a long time since being Arsenal fans are a joy and fun. Every season people keep questioning Arsenal credible and Arsenal just didn't help themselves by struggling to win a game. This season things look very different. 5 games, 3 draw and 2 wins. Scoring 9 conceeding only 2. The major difference we can see is the team play for each other now not just for one player like we used to see before. How far can Arsenal go? We will have to wait before made any more judgement. I have confident the team will go far especially after looking how the likes of ManUtd, Chelsea, & ManC are not as good as they were last season. Champion? If everybody fit and perform to their highest level, why not. Arsenal will lift the trophy again.

Arsenal fans like you and me have waited for about a decade without anything to cheer; perhaps this season may be Arsenals's! I, however, agree with you that it's still too early to jubilate, more battles lie ahead before the war may be won. I wish the gunners the very best of luck!
