Recently I heard cats can have asthma. Now today I found out so can horses! I worked at the stable today and found out one of the horses, who I know had allergies, has the asthma! Fanelle is a 25 yr.old Arab mare and she is the horse with asthma. Not being out at the barn like I used to I would of known this. Fanelle is so bad,she has an asthma attack 24/7! If the medicine she is on now doesn't help her owners will probaly put her down! I hope she get better! I hate the thought but if it helps end her misery,it is a good thing.

I remember a horse at the stable I rode at who had to always have his hay in a net, but the net set low because he had dust problems. This horse was pretty young, but by making sure he had limited exposure to dust (including not riding him in an outside ring when it was a typical dry Texas day) he did pretty good, they might've had him on some meds, but even inhalers for humans were pretty new back in those days.

That really is sad. I hope that they can help the horse without putting her down. I have minor asthma. Hopefully no one is considering putting me down for that.

I hope this medicine does help Fanelle. I heard her owers have tried other medicines and this one is the strongest the vet has. Anyway I hope they don't have to put her down! I hate hearing about horses being put down! I had to with mine 3 years ago do to failing health! This spring an old gelding at the stable coliced so bad he had to be put down. I hope this is not Fanelle's time!

That is sad and I hope for her the meds work. My dog had asthma...I had to be careful where I walked him because many bushes etc made him have an attack.

I hope the medication helps Fanelle! Her owners are so busy running a smal animal clinic,Fanelle and her bubby Cocoa are never ridden! Fanelle is out with the back herd 24/7. They have dirt and grass in the pasture. I am sure the dry summer did not help her either!
