Opportunity Knocks Only Once

Hiya myLotters and friends! I don't want to lose hope. I know someday I will hit my goal. Even when I can't reach the top of it, at least I can get near. I say this because I see a lot of people just spending time on Social Networking Sites, with just liking, sharing and commenting. But I can't see where does their activity goes. I mean, there are some that just do it to tell people they are active on the site, especially on Facebook. But I cannot see how it compensate their spending, on electricity, internet connection, etc. I don't say socialing in the Internet is not good or bad. But when you see something that could probably improve your earnings, your financial status, would you not grab the opportunity? Would you not share it too to your friends or invite them to grab it? ~~~ NEIL™ ~~~ 20120924 1620H

I agree bhaby. Sometimes, we really have to think it over before grabbing an opportunity, because not all opportunity, turns good at all times. So, any way neildc, can you teach us how we can earn more while being at facebook?

Its an art to choose which opportunity is better. We may strike a lot of opportunities, but its up to us to chose which among them. the problem is you cant chose all among them.Choosing all would be like placing your legs on two boats going in opposite direction. it wouldnt do you any good and infact you would perish.

We just can't avoid not socializing in the virtual world as it has become part of life now. I know socializing online is wasting our precious time as once gone we'll never be able to capture it back.

I think knowingly you should change this attitude. there used to be days when i used to spent more than seven to eight hours on facebook. but now i realise there is nothing that i gained form all this. its more a fake world than just a virtual world. do you really think that your friends are all your true friends.

socializing online also gives us good opportunities but most times, people let those opportunities go and only waste their times.

Well you are right, sometimes people are on social networking sites..just to waste time actually or well relax too. I spend less time there and more here, as i see opportunity to earn here too as the same time relax.

I'm assuming you started this discussion because you have invited people to join mylot and no one has joined. It does seem like a person would like to make some money for his social activities if it was available, but sadly, it seems like they would rather fritter their time away on sites like facebook than spend time here making money. I had the same problem with my friends. I sent them several emails with the referral link and some with a total explanation of what I was asking. But alas no one even responded to these let alone join our mylot community. After awhile I was kind of glad they didn't because I could post discussions about things we did without worrying about my words hurting their feelings.

not only with mylot where joining is free. even on sites that makes more money, much easier, but with a very cheap joining free. they more likely spend their money and time one sites that never compensate their expenditures.

I would be very glad if u could help me or guide to make money using social netowrking sites.Even i think the way you do. THERE IS NOTHING we gain by using social network sites except add a few people who we think are friends but they are not real friends in real if one makes an endeavour to make money then i think its worth the effort

Social network should just be a medium connecting our old friends. but now a days, we spent a hell lot of time in there. i really never understood the benefits of doing so. its better to spent some time here because you have some useful discussion here and also you earn too.

actually, it's not the social networking sites that really gives you money but there are some other sites, that you need your friends from those sites. you need them to help you earn money while you are also helping them earn.

Opportunities are all around, and I guess there are those that come are way and there are those that are just around for us to see, lol! There is always an opportunity for those who never stop dreaming and thinking. Create a goal and you can build opportunities around that goal.

i should say i have been not much lucky in this regard. i have tried so hard to get into the freelance writing world. someway unfortunately, i still havent got a chance to prove my mettle. Hope one day somebody would give me a chance to write about their product or some writing assignment where i can show my talent. I am still waiting for that opportunity.

As you grow older and mature in life, you will realize that time is not in your favor anymore and you start exploring to other opportunities that could make your goals nearer. I think that is the lesson I learned now that I have entered into another decade older. I would definitely would like to explore especially when the opportunities are easily grabbed nowadays. There is the internet that could provide good ones which before was not available for our parents before. This is a new place to really seek new earning opportunities that lie here.

That is very much right. We should never back away from taking up what ever our heart says. maybe we would fail, but we would never have to repent that we didnt try. This just appears as words initially, but in later stages of our life, this would indeed become realty. So if you dream some thing go for it.

Hi neil, I all depends on many things. I cannot invite anyone of my friends here to join, let´s say, mylot. Their native language is Spanish, they want to share their things with their offline friends and the amount of money we earn here is next to nothinh for them. I could not get my 11 year old grandson to come one day to gather the apricots in the ground in the season for the money I get in a month at mylot(and I mean an hour´s work maybe). THere are some countries where that money can be used for a reasonable amount of goods as the dollar is expensive. Not so in my country. We need as much money to live as people in the US. But I work online for my own goals and even if I cannot get one of my friends offline to work here, I can exchange links here for other sites and earn enough money for my vacations. Fortunatly my retirement pension plus some helps I get are enough to pay for living. So I only earn online for my one luxury: traveling. With my $100 a month (I earn that only 11 months though), it is enough for a nice vacation as I live alone. I share here the idea of exchanging site links at PMs and get some money out of them

If your talking about MyLot I totally agree with you. Why wouldn't people want to come here and earn for their time and efforts instead of being on Facebook which earns you NOTHING! I have said that over and over, I just don't understand why people don't want to come here and earn money! Crazy... I will never get it. I am so glad I am here, I would be lost without MyLot.

I am really saddened by the fact that mylot only has just above 2 lakh members while facebook has millions of members. Infact facebook gains a lot from having our personal data whereas we gain just nothing. I think people has to realise that there is no point in letting some other company make money out of your data.

I have the same dilemma, neil. But I cannot ask them that question, why are they spending their time on those things. They might told me, why can you buy my happiness? You see we have different outlook in life. I've been trying to invite some of my friends also but to no avail. But I do not blame them but myself alone. Perhaps, I don't do it the right way. You know, I want to conduct a seminar on how to earn online, I will set a date and invite my friends and teach them how to do it. Have you tried that strategy? Well, I am contemplating on it as of the moment. Well, hopefully. I will have to try it on the days to come.

The problem is there are many out there who believe money cant be made out of these schemes. its not that they know anything about it. but people are just lazy about it. they dont even want to know. talking about the seminar you are planning to conduct, i wish you great success. i hope atleast majority would turn up for whatever you are planning.

Its not just about the monetary part. Its about how useful these are to you and yourself. I would certainly feel it all depends on the perception of individual whether he wants to grab the opportunity or he wants to do away with it.

That is very much right. This is exactly the point that i like most about mylot. It gives you a lot of exposure about various things in the world. infact it has become a wonderful medium to conect strangers like me and you. We share fantastic views and opinions here. i dont think any other provides such unique opportunity.
