I was just reading an article this morning on Yahoo that Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day is planning on going into rehab after his actions during his recent performance at the iHeart Radio Music Festival at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was a two day festival that featured many famous bands performing short sets. I guess all or at least most of the acts/performers were given about 30 minutes to perform. When Armstrong realized that his band's set had less than 10 minutes remaining he lost it. He threw a tantrum and screamed obsenities to the audience and smashed up his guitar. I guess he was upset and was saying things along the line of he has been around since the 80's and he is not someone like Justin Bieber, etc. Well, needless to say in this day and age since everyone has a cell phone with a camera, etc. someone recorded this incident and a clip of the tantrum was uploaded to YouTube and quickly went viral. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I've definitely been out of the loop this week about this because I really haven't been at home all that much. I knew that the I Heart Radio festival did occur this past weekend, but I didn't know about these antics that occurred during the Green Day performance. I do think that in this day and age there is nothing that a person (especially a famous person) can do that is actually going to be something that can remain private or among a smaller group of people. Everyone is able to know everyone else's business.

I know that nowadays no one can do anything without risking being videotaped by a cell phone. And if you're famous it's even worse. And then within minutes it will go viral. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

That's true too. I do like Green Day's music though. I will still listen to them but he probably could have handled it better though...

I had not read this article but I saw this picture on Facebook earlier or him flipping the middle finer with the tag line of "I've been doing this since the 80's" and Henry Rollins underneath saying something along the lines of so what. I thought it may have been a political thing. This makes more sense lol

They are a very well known band but that doesnt make them more deserving of the right to play over other bands. I dont understand why he would have to enter rehab because of this though. Was his behavior because he was stoned or drunk I wonder. I would be embarrassed if that was me and I had acted like that in front of everyone. I am guessing the members of his band were not happy when he did that and ruined their performance.

Yes, I don't know if he was under any influence of anything or not. But I can imagine that the rest of the band was probably like "What the H..." when he was doing that. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

I hadn't heard about this before now, but wow. I think I'm going to go find that clip online and see what happened. It sounds like it would have been a good show to see anyways.

I watched the whole festival on the internet and I would be upset if I was him also, Usher played more than his alloted set time and green day were tld they had a 45 minute set and on the timeboard it said he had 4 minutes left when he should have had 20 odd so thats why his rant came on and ripped into the mainstream artists. surely Usher shouldnt have gone over but nobody said anything to him which is why billie joe was upset.

Oh I see... I didn't know about that. That's not fair either. Then they should have extended the set then to be fair to Green Day. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!
