Sometimes we are guided by newly trend fashion, new high-tech gadgets. We buy new fashionable clothes, sandals, shoes, but what will happen to these things after 2 or 3 years? For instance, new gadgets before are considered now as out-of date. Yes things are really changing. What's "IN" today can be "OUT" tomorrow. We have a lot of new styles and fashionable things in the market today and for sure these will be obsolete for coming years. But is it wrong to be in style? I think it's not wrong as long as you are not enslaved to style. This is just my view. What about your opinion?

I prefer classic style clothing. Once in a while I look for what's in but I never go full out. I buy one piece and incorporate that to my wardrobe. Like for example the fall trend this year is animal prints, I buy one scarf or a sleeveless top and then I mix it with my old blazers and cardigans to get that look but I never buy too much because I know that it will go out of fashion in a couple of months.

Hi Thanks for sharing frrianneful. We can use our old stuff and mix it with new one.:) That's artistic. Same with you I don't buy too much because it will just go out of fashion soon. Have a great day..:)

Litville, i seldom want to spend money into buying fashionable clothing. I only buy fashionable clothing for special occasion. I prefer to spend money into buying casual wear, where i can wear daily without a weird feeling. A few years ago, the button type phone is popular but not now. Nowadays, it is very popular and everywhere you will seen people using touch screen phone. Fashionable item can go obsolete any time without a warning.

I don't pay that much attention to style, but if someone else does, that's okay, too. Gadgets and clothing style changes don't usually appeal to me. I have found some gadgets that I really liked, but the problem is that they wear out then I can't find them any more. It's not wrong to be in style, but I do think one should be conscious of how much money it costs and to buy carefully. Some things can go from one year to another with just accessory changes and be quite stylish.

I don't know. I am beginning to think the fact that everything is made to last only a few years is bad for the environment and cluttering up our lives. I'm trying to develop my own style so that I don't buy new stuff every year. It's an adjustment.

I'm a senior male who enjoys nice but inexpensive clothes. I never toss a garment just because it is dated, so obviously my closet is filled with good used clothing which I seldom wear. I have several grown boys who never tire of checking out my wardrobe, and I love it when they say, "Dad can I have this (old) shirt. So I say, "Hey, that shirt is at least 25 years old." Then they say, "Yeah Dad, I know that.It may be old, but its all the style now!"

Things that get obsolete are the gadgets since as time goes by, a new technology is developed. As with the clothes and shoes, the fad comes and goes. You would see 80's clothes being worn today with just minor twists.

It's not wrong for wanting new things. Life is a constant change after all. If you try to live in the past not wanting to embrace what's new in the future, life won't be nice at all. You'll be ignorant to the changes of times. There's really nothing wrong with it. We just have to remember that all things in excess is bad for us. I always try to learn what's new and keep up with the times for the sake of my son. I don't want to be ignorant of what's the latest so i would know what my son would be up to. He couldn't fool me if i know those things ahead of him.

I don't see anything wrong with being stylish as long as it fits you. I know some people who loves being IN and always follow the latest fashion even though it does not suit them. I agree with your observation. This world is already used to disposability making every thing disposable whether it is drinking cups or relationships. Like you have said, many people are struggling so hard to earn money so that they can buy the latest gadgets or whatever it is that is in in the market. Setting your focus on possessing material thing was never a good idea. You should always maintain a balance view in life. Too much of everything is bad.

as long as you are comfort to follow the "in" trend and you are capable to afford, it's good to follow the trend. but, don't take it as burden :)
