Indian media is not playing its genuine role in my view. What are your views? Yes I have listened that media is the fourth pillar of any democracy, but here is India, it seems that media is either working under government pressure or it has heavy commercial interests over its duties. What are your views?

You are right media not playing genuine role they not show the proper news and important news only politicians quarrels are showing. Every party may be BJP, Congress, Janta Dal etc. are fighting for chair but no body think about the general man and media taking the benefits of this and earn the money on these type news. Whenever open the news channel then start the news about politicians. I not like this. I think you are right they are pressurize by Govt.

You are right, i am from Chennai, here media's are owned by the ruling party and opponents, the ruling persons promote their things in their channel and opponents promote their things in their channels as well as both of them spreading ills about the opponents in their channel, it is really hard to get the real news with this kind of media

Indian media or for that matter any media across the world is not free from the outside influences. These issues do influence the the proper functioning of the institutions of the media, media is definitely the fourth pillar of democracy but nowadays the various print media and electronic media outlets are not performing their duties that they are required to do.Be it government pressure or any monetary benefits the news channels these days have started to show sponsored news which are directed towards the profit of a person or a group of people.
