Totally black cats regarded lucky!!!!!

Well its contradicting to my belief. Because my mom used to told me that black cats are bad luck. She keep telling me when I was a kid that I should avoid seeing a black cat for me not to experience any bad luck! :)

There have been many superstitions about cats. In Scotland some believed that a black kitten on the porch meant future happiness and riches. Other omens believed to be good luck were a cat at a wedding, a sneezing cat, dreaming of a white cat and a black cat walking towards a person. In Japan and the UK it was believed good luck to have a black cat cross your path. And there are so many more for good and bad luck. There are superstitions regarding cats and health and also predicting the weather, i.e. pouring or sprinkling water on a cat would make it rain. More like it would make the cat mad! These superstitions can be just the opposite depending on the country or culture. Or on the source. It's a very interesting subject to read about.

Only God knows which cat is lucky and which is not.In our country black cats are associated with spooky things and so considered unlucky.And if a black cat crosses your way,it means something undesirable is waiting for you.I don't know why people associate such things with good or bad luck.

I didn't know they can be lucky. I usually thought these cats are unlucky well now that's corrected thanks to you. I am not a cat lover I prefer to take care of dogs so we may not be matched here in terms of pet preference but anyway thank you very much for the information. Goodluck and happy mylotting :)

I have never heard of that before, I did hear about them being unlucky or cause of bad luck. But then again, I am not too superstitious. I think the only time when a black cat becomes bad luck is when you're walking in a dark street and you didn't see the black cat and accidentally stepped on it, lol! For me, cats are cats. They're good companions and as well as good pets.

I think that black cats are popularly associated with black magic or witches like in the series Sabrina The Teenage Witch wherein they have a black magical talking cat.Hehehe..In some countries,I think they are considered lucky and some bad luck.For me,it does not matter what color cats might have as long as they are cute and cuddly:)

Well i am envious of u seriously for possessing those cute black cats. he he. Anyways cats are indeed considered lucky for the people even though some avoid watching black cats as they mean bad omen. i think u should not have given those black cats to other people as the new born kittens need their mother's love and i hope u get back those cats from those people by lying them. hope u do that very soon. What say?
