I'm money management term you should save at least 10% of your salary, more if you can afford. 10% for enjoyment, 20% for you I vestment and upgrades and the rest of the 50% for your daily needs.

Actually you should start early, it would be easy when you get older. The money you earned within the first two years would be very lucrative . If you want to invest in forex without using your money let me know.

Hi abigael, Im glad to hear about your first salary. I was so excited as well when I've got mine. But seriously, we should be able to know how to spend our money wisely. It's not bad to pamper yourself though and share it to your friends and family. If it would be enough, you caould probably buy something for yourself, treat your sister her favorite pizza and probably yopu can also set aside some as a treat for your friends but its also very important to set aside something as your savings. Budgetting is very important. You should be able to differentiate your "wants" and "needs" and you should be able to prioritize your "needs" over your "wants"... Enjoy your first salary:)

Well, it has been like you said a while since you worked for someone and this is your first paycheck in a long time there is reason to want to celebrate some. Your best bet might be to put some aside like your mom is suggesting and put some of it in savings. Then doing something special like pizza is always a good option and then choose to take part of next check to use for shopping.

I would suggest you spend all your money on your mother first , then if something is left spent on yourself and others . I spent my first salary buying a mobile . It feels really good from inside . BYE BYE

It depends on where you will enjoy and be happy to spend it. May you must have some souvenir from your first job like clothes, bag or wallet so that every time you see that item you will remember the joy in spending the money from hard work.

i could not recall my experience because that was a very long time ago. all i remember is, i needed few things for my work, like clothing, a tie and a belt. all that i needed to continue with the job, to make me feel better and look great facing the clients, i got it slowly during paydays.

It is great that you've managed to get your first salary. I graduated from college in July, and I got a job right after that so I got my first payment in August. I treated myself to a couple of items of clothing that I had been wanting for a while, because I thought that I had been the one who had made the money so I could choose how I was going to spend it. And then I put the rest of it into my savings account because I knew that I wanted to buy a flat soon and I needed every single penny that I could get my hands on to be able to afford that.

I would suggest you save towards something as a long term goal. Drinking will make you happy for a few hours, shopping a few weeks but owning a house etc would be for a lifetime.

Hi Abigael! I think it would be wise to follow the suggestion of saving some part of you salary. Make it a habit to save. While other may have save what is left after spending, why not try the other way? Spend what is left after saving. Money for all we know, just slip off our hands if we don't know how to manage it well. Have a nice day and Congratulations!

My first salary? Hmm.. that was 5 years ago and I can still remember the exact amount of it :). I gave half of it to my mom to help with the household expenses, 10% was for my dad and then I bought just one shirt! And then the remaining amount was for my allowance. yes, you should spend your money wisely, and you'' learn about that in the process. Goodluck and congratulations!

Hi friend, good to hear about this, congrats for getting your first salary. I will go with your mummy's suggestion, you can save this money for your future. It is really easy to spend our money, but it is too hard to earn it, so spent it wisely. I gave my first month salary to my mum and she saved it for my future. We used my salary for my marriage purpose

Actually I no need to manage my money at all, because when I receive my salary then I have to pay lots of my bills, and the rest just enough for my daily need,so I do not have any surplus money at all,I am a moonlite.

Congratulations on your first salary. I know what that feels like as I was out of work for a year once. It taught me to be careful with my money though and I tried to balance it out by spending some and saving some in case I needed it for later.

Oh thats great that you have received your first salary. You have to save some portion of it just what your mom told you. Seperate your allowance too before spending into something. And the rest, well you can use to buy anything you want.

You need a celebration for that my friend. But you should also spend your salary wisely.I think you should buy something as a memorabilia for your first salary just like me.When I received my first salary, I bought a pair of sandals.I felt overwhelmed every time I wore it. You treat also your siblings and friends as long as your salary can afford it.haha!

I made the mistake of wasting my money for a long time, never saved and lived for the day and although I had a great time and many adventures and memories to cherish I paid the price when I became a family man because life would of been much easier for me, my girlfriend and my children if we had,had a little nest egg to fall back on. Its all well and good having fun but life can be that tough these days that you need to think ahead and think of the future if you want a easy life.
