I just got into the bath, and 10 minutes it took me to realize the water wasnt going higher. I was playing with Patches and finally after she stopped playing with the water. The stopper isnt holding the water in, but its built into the tub. I dont know how to fix it, I sat here as the water went down stareing at the drain. I took a cup which is used to rinse the tub out after each use, and put it over the drain the water suctioned it to the floor, and hope this works for now.

It's a pain when it does, I know every place I have lived had this issues. In college both places I rented, as well as now.

Our bathtub at our house originally had a built in stopper, but it has never worked since we've owned the house. So, we went and got one of the rubber stoppers that you can just put in the tub when you are getting ready to take a bath and that is something that works out very well for us. For the most part the only ones in our family that take baths are the children, but there are times that I do like to run a hot bath and relax in the tub as well.

That's an ingenious idea. Mine is built in too but it doesn't leak thank goodness. At our other house the bathroom sink had issues where the stopper wouldn't come up enough to let the water out properly.

The tub is like that here as well, sometimes. I had given up on taking baths. I like baths too, but have only been using the shower no instead. I guess there are ways to fix it but dunno how to, ask a plumber perhaps or someone online like you are now. Good luck with it.
