Our traditional mid-autumn festival(Sept.30 this year) will come tomorrow followed by National Day(Oct.1),so we will have many days off! It should be a happy thing! But it's so hard to buy train ticket this month!Chine's railway customer service center(www.12601.com)was too busy that many people cannot buy tickets though they have been guarding the computer for many days… My sister came back home from Chongqing today someway, but her teacher called her to go back in time before Sept.1. She is now distressed…plane tickes are too expensive so she can only choose train. And what happens to your country when important holiday is coming? Is that hard to by ticket?

I visited Argentina in March 2012 and asked to buy train tickets to Cordoba. I was told that no tickets were available for ages due to them being completely booked out for weeks. It was Easter in the first week of Easter. We had to take a coach Mendoza and then another coach on to Santiago De Chile. It took all night to reach Mendoza and then it was a pretty journey over the Andes Mountains. Wow! We did go for a day out from Cordoba to a town which had a train. At last we could take a train but it was the only train of that day! We waited for two hour at the train station. In the end we got a bus back to Cordoba. It went past some pretty lakes. It arrived at a different bus station in Cordoba. Months ago I saw a film about a family living in China. On a national holiday we had a challenge getting train tickets. It was terrible for them. Good luck getting train tickets at this very busy time of the year. I wish you happy National Day.

Thanks for sharing, it sounds you've had a happy time!We finally had a trip that needn't train ticket! From Sept.30 to Oct.7, we could drive on highways and bridges for free! It’a new policy to scrap highways toll fees during major holidays.Though our family were happy today because we can save money in holidays, there appeared some problems. It led to traffic congestions and we saw a massive pile-up on highway today.I hope tomorrow could be better!

the government must think ways on how to accommodate an expected outpour of people who simply want to go home to be with their families. additional train coaches can be arranged beforehand. but the government can only do so much to do these things. the passengers can also their part by reserving their seats in the train. holiday rush is always stressful when traveling.

In fact everybody was reserving their seats. I think it's hard to arrange additional train coaches for those people. So many people in China, and how to know they are simply want to go home?

Hi, That is the inconvenience of having only one mode of travel. You should consider other means. We have in our place jeepneys, tricycles, motorcyles, bicyles, buses, motoroboat, ship, sails, or horseback. Oddly enough we have no railway system yet, it is to be realized in the far future.

Hi,rog!Things were different in different place. My country's land area is so big that we need it.And from Wenzhou to Chongqing we can only choose the two means(it took my sister 30 hours to come back by train). Motorboats and horseback don't seem to be common in my country^^
