I like Lucy Liu and so I watched the first episode of her new series "Elementary" and I liked it as I had hoped I would. It is nothing like any other Sherlok Holmes show I have ever seen which is one reason it is good. It also was well written and acted. Unlike other Holmes shows, this one takes place in current times and in the U.S. with Liu playing a female Watson who is a "fallen" doctor who has been hired by Holmes' father to be a companion, basically to keep him from relapsing, to Holmes after he is let out of rehab. Even in this first episode, she ends up contributing to his solving of the case.

I loved Lucy so much on Southland that this was a must see show for me. My husband watched the show and likes it. There aren't a lot of shows we will both watch so that says something.

This show is still doing well and I'm betting it will get a renewal. It really is surprising, as thought viewers wouldn't like Watson as a lady.

I watched the first episode, I liked it but I haven't gotten around to watching the second one yet.
