Being honest

Last night, I asked my son to buy 60000ml distilled water in mini store near our place, I gave him 500...after 30 minutes he returned with the water and asked me how much i gave him, i told him it's 500," are you sure mom"? he asked, yes i said. He gave me the change 500 + 410..he said, he is not sure how much i gave him, and to cut the story short he returned the 500 without hesitation.
As a mom and a role model,it's great to see our kids doing the right thing specially on money matters, as i believe honesty is the best policy...you will gain more respect and trust from your honesty and most of all God will bless you more.

I believe in the saying "the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree". It's good to hear that your son has that value in honesty. Kids don't often remember what you said, but rather what you did. You have set a good example for him.

Being a role model and setting a good examples are the most valuable things we can give to them that has a greater amount than money, means they can't buy it or nobody does. It's like a plant that grew inside them and carefully been taken care of.

Hi,
I'm glad you have raised your son well. It is nice to read those scenarios where honesty reigns and does exists. Nowadays, most of the children practice dishonesty maybe because they have not been taught the good manner of their parents.I think you should give reward to your son or at least praise him for that good manner.

I was also raised well by my parents and so i did the same to my children and hopefully when they have their own family, they will do the same thing to their children too.

its the thing that matters a lot in this present world ideally ,if one can imbibe these values in others to be honest there would not be any problems just like the distilled water here

I experience several portrays of that virtue from ordinary persons that I do not know personally and also to my loved ones. Sometimes, I leave my cellphone and my money barely on a corner where it is conspicuous. Or just the other other week, a utlity man return my cellphone that I accidentally fell in place and I'm really unaware of it. I thank them for being honest. In a relationship, we should be honest in our thoughts and feelings to others, for it can make or break a relationship. Honesty is indeed a virtue each person should have. Thanks

I'm glad that my Godchild is honest as I know you been so good mom to them.
You raised them to be good and honest and have fear in God, sometimes if they done something dishonest only it's little one. Julienne is a honest girl too in terms of
money she always return back whatever is not for her.

When a child demonstrates an honest heart without having to be prompted you can tell that child has had a good upbringing. We cannot expect our children to grow up to be responsible adults if we don;t train them while they are young how to do the right thing.
I know you are proud of him for making the right choice but I am proud of you for instilling this behavior in him. Good job, and keep up the good work. I wish more parents would.

Good job mom - and son! That is great that he was honest in his dealings. I believe this is a wholesome life skill that can benefit him all his life. Good job teaching him to do right!

That's something to be proud of if your son/daughter is doing that without being told. It simply means that you brought up well your kid. However, it's only very few kid is doing it now. Some are already tempted with the benefits of having a money.
