Is there no one else?

My daughter, one who is never fond of television news, asked me anyway, who's who in the race to the senate seats. I uttered a few names: Legarda, Escudero, Angara, Pimentel, Grace Poe (with a little explanation about who she is), Villar, Magsaysay, Teddy Casino, and Antonio Trillanes, then adding that the last two would be for my consideration. I mumbled a few other names, one was a farm owner, the other a retired military man (I can't recall their names now). My daughter waited, and when I said no other names anymore, she asked: Is there no one else? I shook my head. Then, to my surprise, she told me: Why don't you run, Mommy? And she was serious. Really, fellow Filipinos, at the risk of me violating the cyber crime law, the libel enclosure of which I vehemently declare unconstitutional, or would Senator Sotto again deem to purport a definition all from his own vocabulary, is there really no one else fit for our august senate? I heard Angara say, when accused of building a dynasty, that it is actually a family legacy? Whhhhhaaaat? Ohhh, and the incognito that was Cong JPE Jr is now given a face, after all these decades! Now I am saying: Is there no one else? I am afraid because I know what my daughter meant when she said Why don't you run, Mommy? That only meant she doesn't feel safe, and she needs Mommy to secure the premises. How my daughter believes in me. But of course the senate is beyond me, I could only comment as much as any ordinary Filipino. And now, we have this cyber libel law. Flip flop! Is there no one else?

it happens not only in your country but in most of the world. Here in Goa it was like one government only but this year people realized that it is not someone's family business. It is connected to common people's life and this year a new government is come. But I tell you that all politicians are same. He was past Chief Minister about decades ago. now he is again so it is his business also. Someone should arise from the common peoples crowd I guess, then only there will be someone genuine for the country. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

weird eh? People are aching for change the government says its for change but it seems we're still stuck in a limbo (when it comes to our politicians. How could trust these names who get recycled over and over again? And some people actually wonder why a portion of the population are not voting.

The netizens should be a lot smarter than they should have been back in 2010. though Erap said people have gone smarter, but look at him almost won if Aquino didn't run for the Presidency. If only Erap didn't gamble and supported jueteng or had many wives, he could have been teh best President Ever. right now, we need to listen which bills should they be making and which bills should be amended. I hope the media won't be bias this time.

Yeah it looks like there are a few good ones and mostly are oldies and veterans passing the thrones over their next of kins. What we see is indeed a few powerful people trying to maintain their status like they own the seat they are seating on. I think it is time people start asking themselves to use their conscience when they vote and not because they are what the surveys are telling. I wanted to see new faces in the senate and I hope newer and a fresher senate would be introduced next year.

Hello Eileenleyva, I won't vote for those people who approved this law that's for sure. If Tito Sotto doesn't run again, he left with terrifying legacy. they really think that we are stupid? building a family legacy in the public service where we pay our taxes too! the trouble is that most of our people are internet illiterate. I know whom gonna vote for but i need to hear their platforms first. Otherwise, I am going to boycott 2013, some people I know here Have done, maybe i can do it.i have tin ID but am not a tax payer i could consider voting an option

yes they will run again. The same, the same person will fight for these positions again and again. I'm tired to see these people running again. Even in my hometown same will run for the local government. They turned Politics as a profitable business, to gain a lot of money and power.
