the heavy lightning today almost disconnected our cable connection

Oh my goodness, the weather in our city changed drastically within no time and there were dark clouds everywhere in the sky. Heavy rains was very much predictable but i was not aware of the fact that there would so much thundering and lightning also. We were watching TV and thought that there would not be any such thing due to lightning or thundering but very soon the lighting struck so hard that our cable connection got disconnected immediately and we were all at loss of words as we had never experienced such thing before. My parents said that it was our mistake that we turned on our TV sets during lightning and should not have done this at least. Thank God nothing happened to our TV and we got back the connection after the rains had gone. What are your thoughts regarding this? Have u ever experienced any such incident with u before?

It automatically disconnect or power shut off automatically when there's lightning here in our place. So, we don't worry about damaging our appliances, unless it will struck directly to the our tv sets (ehhh- so scary)

hey thanks a ton for your response. Well glad to hear that things get automatically disconnected whenever there is sudden thundering and lightning and in a way this is such a safer thing to happen and is of great help to your community. i wish this technology is adopted in other places also so that potential threats and dangers can be averted. Yes it is very much dangerous when lightning would strike the TV sets as they are very powerful and can damage the entire system also. What say?
