The show must go on

When I was a kid I had gone to my aunt's place to spend the night. There was a wedding celebration in the neighbour's house and preparations were going on in full measure, music, hustle and bustle, arrival of guests all in their Sunday best. As this was going on there, tragedy struck at my aunt's. Her son fell in the well and got drowned. In contrast there was sorrow in this house when people thronged and got busy with a different kind of hustle and bustle. The neighbours were helpless. They had to carry on. Has this ever happened to you and that too when you were a kid. How did you face it. Did you go back home, as I did?

I have not had any experience like that but I can see how it would stick with you. I would have done the same thing. Went home.

This happened so many years ago and I have vivid visions of the scene in both the houses. I also remember the song that was being played in the wedding house and when that song came to be heard at my aunt's place it was such an palatable mixture.

I was only a kid when that happened but if I can remember so I suppose who were the main participants of both those occasions. No one should experience this, including you.
