A Sad Truth..

I thought things were good now
I thought we'd overcome the bad
Now I see through the illusion
Of the love I thought we had
You told me that you met him
Now you don't know what to do
I smiled and said "Just pick him
I'll be fine not having you"
But I couldn't hold my tears back
So I whispered "Got to go..."
Then I quickly hung the phone up
So my hurting wouldn't show
Now I'm shaking and I'm crying
And I don't know what to do
Cause the truth is, I was lying
I can't make it without u.......

Well Mr I'm not a poet, I've got news for you, you're really quite good at writing poems. So we are back to the age old conversation are you a poet because you write poetry, or do you have to choose poetry as your life to become a poet? I must admit I normally use the phrase "I wrote poems" I seldom use "I'm a poet"

It is sad to know about the old memories. It reminds me of my sad love stories, which began happily, but ended sadly to me. My ex-girlfriend went to someone else in the end after more than five years of love affairs. I could not help but let go this period of sadness when it came. It is only part of my stories in life, but I am happy that I am now living a happy life. Take care and enjoy your life, friend.

Nice rhyming structure, lovely choice of words. I feel you have encapsulated the emotion very well in this piece. Caught between doing what is best for yourself and what is best for the person you love, that's a tough choice. Very well written ,glad I saw this post.
