He just landed in San Francisco

My boyfriend started his trip today to Korea and he just landed in San Francisco. Now we're down to our last few hours to talk on the phone before his phone gets shut off and he gets on a 15 hour flight to Korea. He's in the army and he'll be in Korea for a year and in 6 months he can come back to visit me here. I'm so sad that I have to be without him for such a long time. He's my best friend and it gets so lonely here without him sometimes even though I work and go to school. I look forward to the day when he's out of the army and he can come home and we can move in together. But for now, I have to tough it out and just look forward to being able to see him again.

hey glad to know that your boyfriend is in army and u should be proud for that as he is a superhero and is an inspiration for many. I can understand the pain of leaving without your boyfriend but then u have to live with this reality and always hope that he is blessed by God and that your relationship flourishes no matter whether u both are together or not. What say?

He is definitely my hero and I know he's doing an honorable thing by serving his country. It's just hard to be without him all the time and know that he's missing out on so many things while he's away. I'm just hoping that time goes by fast and he'll get out of the army and we can put all this behind us and really start our life together.

I guess both of you knew when he signed up it wouldnt be easy. I heard in the US you get all your schooling paid for if your in the army for a couple yeears, wish it was like that here.

I knew it wouldn't be easy but I also didn't think he'd get sent so far away for his first station. But I guess it's better that he'll be in Korea rather than somewhere in the U.S. where he'd get deployed to Afghanistan in January. As hard as it is, I'm glad to know that he'll be safe. His schooling will all get paid for if he chooses to come out and then go back to college. I think right now he'd like to get at least his associate's degree and become a police officer when he's out of the army.

I had an amazing time with him while he was here. Things felt so normal like he wasn't even in the army and it felt just like it used to before he left. I was definitely sad to say goodbye yesterday until I can see him in 6 months. I'm going to work as much as I can and try to have this time go by as fast as possible so I can see him again.
