This is really such a bad habit and i see maybe mind actually the most important factor to stop smoking. It is reasonable that whether the man himself wants to quit smoking then he will try to tell him to stop and eat something to instead of smoke. This is how i feel and hopefully this helps.

That is indeed the major problem of smoking; once you get in, it's extremely hard to get out. Since you mentioned that your best friend himself wants to stop smoking, which in part demonstrates his motivation to quit, he could try some of the nicotine replacement therapies available which could assist him in quitting. There are patches, gums, inhalers and other gadgets which could assist in curbing that nicotine craving. Also, there are some other novel options such as Champix tablets (or known as Chantix in the USA if I'm not mistaken) which are highly effective too. Maybe you could refer him to a helpline which may be available in your country. Here in Australia where I live, there is a helpline known as QuitLine which is very helpful. Anyway, I wish your best friend good luck and success in his quest to stop smoking. The sooner he stops, the sooner he will feel better and his health will improve.

Thanks for sharing this discussion. Well it was very bad to hear about your friends condition. I know smoking always kills and see even your friend is not spared. I think since he has learned a lesson, i think u should try to convince him to go to a good rehabilitation center where he will be given good medication and advises about how to restore his health. He also needs to be on a light diet and ask him to put less pressure on his lungs and to practice Yogic exercises. What say?
