Nina, first female to receive diamond record award

There is nothing to question on how she got this award since she really sings good making a god interpretation of the song she choose to sing. Her voice is really calming.
On the other hands, I just observed that she doesn't have an original songs. Most or all of her songs that hits the charts we're all revivals or cover-ups. I just hope she will release an original song and hopefully it will hit the charts too like her other songs.

yeah you're right, she's probably the only pinay act to have received such award in the OPM history aside the Eheads and Jose Mari Chan.
all of her hit songs were all revivals and we both have the same view.
Perhaps, one of the criteria for such award is the sales output of the record an artist releases, I suppose.

Yes, she is the only Pinay to received such award for the album Nina Live. Thjis is based on the record sales
That is exactly what I mean. She has a lot of great songs but I noticed that all of them are revival. I just hope she will release a song originally sang by her.

Nina is a great singer. Yeah you are right Nina doesn't have original songs. You'll also noticed that a lot of Pinoy singers nowadays sings covers. Some are copy-cat voice like this singer can perform or mimic this singer. It just so sad that OPM is loosing the battle. Is this a proof that Pinoy singers/entertainers has no originality?

I don't mean that she will write her own song which is really hard to make your own composition. I mean that she will have a new single as the original artist. I agree with you that she is really a great singer.

I don't mean that she must composed her own song but she will song an original composition or she must be the original artist to sing it.

Hello asdomencil, I don't think any one is capable of easily making their own songs, takes time and inspiration to do so. besides, song writers doesn't really make perfect songs to singers, she needs to be inspired to create her own song. for decades we have been nothing most of the time than just revivals and cover ups. let her take her time, in fact you might suggest to her manager that she needs to make her own song sooner or later.

Oooops. I think I havent elaborate about the own song. I just want to say that even she had many singles coming out of the market, I think I haven't heard of any original songs. This means she was the original artist of the song. It deos not necessarily composed by her.
