Don't you just love this photo of me? My 4 year old grand daughter & 10 year old grandson are in pageants as some here know. Well at this years State Finals I was given a very nice surprise from the woman that runs the pageants. I was crowned as 2012 Minnesota Grandpa. This is the crown that was placed on me by the womans daughter. All her kids call me grandpa as well. So I have a long run as MN King Grandpa to look forward to. Parades, community service and pageant appearances. Have you ever been officially been crowned in any type of pageant? ~~HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB~~

No, but I have no reason, nor desire to run for any thing like that. I have won a couple of costume contests at small conventions, one was an act with a friend, the other was just my costume and a little act...

It wasn't anything I ran for or tried out for. It was an act of thanks basically for the work I do with the kids at events, parades, and pageants. I basically keep the kids active & busy while important things are being done setting up & preparing for parades, pageants, and other events. The kids all call me grandpa now for the most part & I love it. Tell more about the costume and or act you mentioned? Please? LOL! ~~HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB~~

I bet her costume had something to do with Sci fi or Dr. Who.

GardenGerty is right, I was dressed up as the 4th Doctor both times. The acts were different - and my friend was dressed up as the monster from an episode that never aired - Shada.

Nope, I have never been crowned. It is great that you are so respected and looked up to. I did not know your grandson was doing pageants as well. Keep up the good work, the world needs more grandpas.

The title wasn't contested by anyone. It was a thoughtful & beautiful act of thanks for my work keeping the kids busy and out of the adults hair for the most part!! Grats to you as well. $500 in High School was a lot of money. WTG! ~~HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB~~

You surely are very deserving of this crown and title. I think it's just wonderful for you and for all the kids. I've never been in a pageant, so no...I've never been in one.
