This is a photo of my grand daughter Savanna (left) at one of her many parades as a Queen in her pageant. Once the parade started there were 8 kids or so on the float. She was in many parades and other events as a spokesperson/participant. She loved all the people waving at her & the other girls & boys on the float. But mostly, she loved the candy to munch on. I also participated as a chaperone & candy giving along the routes. I also made sure that along the route they all waved & smiled at the crowd. I loved doing this. It was so much fun for everyone involved. Have you ever marched in any type of official parade? Please share here your fun times doing so? ~~HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB~~

Savanna is soooo cute. I have been in parades, but not as a queen, but as a shofar blower and banner carrier for the fair parade many years ago. I shared that job with my husband and my two older kids three candy while my youngest daughter did a flag processional throughout the parade..It was really fun and we had a live band on one of the floats...

Shofars - Blowing the shofars
Someone who blows a shofar or like some call it, a ram's horn.

Garden Gerty is a clown, of course she has been in a parade. Same for her predecessor 'Tilda. My daughter was also a twirler when she was a youngster, and I walked parade routes with the girls and made sure they were doing fine.

That is very sweet. It's always fun to see parades, the kind they have in hometowns and such.

Thanks a ton for sharing the discussion. Glad to hear that your grand daughter taking part in the parades. U must be feeling proud and happy at the same time seeing your grand daughter in the parades. It is always fun being a part of a parade as there are lots of people and small kids to see, there is fun everywhere and most importantly the environment is great. What say?

Our grand daughter used to march with the band in parades when she was in band, and then she quit band.. but it was very fun to go and watch her march and play.. They're all so sweet aren't they! What a blessing!

Welcome back Bob! I have been in many parades but that was a long long long time ago! I marched in the band when I was in high school....and it was fun. One time though we were in the Aquatennial parade and I got heat stroke! To this day I can't take the heat!

Hi Grandpa Bob! She is growing so much, isn't she? Beautiful child. I've never marched in a parade but I was in one. I was in a Mustang convertible. I sat on the back and waved at the crowd. I was the spokesperson for Adult Learning at my college. It was fun being in the parade.

It was the opening ceremony of 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. I was part of a marching band behind those wearing international costumes... Such a long time ago, I can't remember much details but it was so much fun...
