It has just been made! The Austrian Felix Baumgartner has just jumped from about 128 000 feet! He made the highest and fastest free fall ever! I was watching this on the screen of my laptop in my living room! In the very near past all this was a dream. But now what else we'll be able see tomorrow?

For us it's too dangerous but for him it's only for fun. Some people won't satisfy to simple things, they want to try an amazing things and they want to make a records. That's his choice so it up to him. I think he is ready for the consequences that might happen to him.

He did something amazing indeed. And it wasn't only a record, he delivered data for medical and scientific research.

Thanks for posting this discussion. Well yes it was indeed shocking to hear about the freefall as i had never ever imagined that even such things can happen on earth. Hats off to Felix for his daredevil act that landed him on earth in the fastest possible time of 4 minutes and some seconds. I think gradually human beings are doing all those things that were once considered impossible. What say?

Yes, I had read some info about this, they said that it was very dangerous and he was risking his life. And I was shocked when I saw him hitting the ground very well and then walking, talking to people. I remember the time when this was impossible to do. What else we'll see?

It's amazing isn't it ;-) It was one of the first things my partner said to me this morning when I got up at 5:10am, that "he jumped, he did it". My partner was so happy for him =) I think that the guy is a little bit crazy but, hey, good on him for doing something completely different.
