Hi guys I used to get bored when there was not much new discussions coming up while I was online. But what I do now is I go and dig those that i have responded in the and see what I can say about what other mylotters have responded. I am feeling good. though I used to read other responses but I hardly used to post on the responses. All I did today was digging for those wonderful discussions where I could add more of my views. I am feeling good. I have done more than 50 I guess..haha.. anyway what do you do and how do you respond? Are you like me who used to make one response for a discussion?? Do you go back to those discussions in the past to post more on the responses that are made? because responses are coming for discussions after months also. . Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

With the notifications not working, it seems we are forced to manually dig for topics more so than usual. In the process, I have also come across past discussions and I was curious enough to open those which have more responses since I responded or last commented. I do feel it's so quiet here; I suppose many are really depending on notifications to respond or comment back on responses received.

Hi sishy, i wanna share something with you that I never see the notification. I have not opened my mail for long time now. when i open the mail I just want to get rid of those flooded mylot notifications. I have yet to understand how people use the mail and respond. I have not found the point as yet. I just come to mylot and start off. i can see that which of my discussions were responded and I go to responses to see if my responses were commented. Anyway if you do it daily that it won't pile up. I used to make one respond to the discussions but now I am responding to the other responds of the discussions initiated by others. I see that many veterans do the same so wanna be in line with them and why not it is so interesting after all..you are doing good too. keep it up sishy.. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I don't totally depend on notifications either. In fact, I have turned all on my friends list to 'notification off' since my email was flooded when some started pages of discussions at once. I do like to check if I get responses or comments, though; that way I can just go straight to that particular discussion if I have more to comment.

Okay it is fine to see notifications then as far as you get to the point fast. Good practice.

Hi friend, good to know you checked the past discussions and placed your comments, some times i too do the same thing, check the past topics and place replies and comments to the interesting ones to spend the time. It is not a bad thing to do, if we don't find any interesting topics here as well as getting bored

Not only that. A perusal of all the responses, replies, comments will give an idea to write an article. if we have time we can do that. vidhyaprakash is doing very well in wikinut. I wanted to write in it but it is not accepting.

yeah It is good to go back because there are so much more to write. With every response by other, i come up with more ideas to discuss. So yeah it feels good. I never did it because I want just concentrating on the main discussion and not the responses. i think it is another way to boost the earnings here. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

HI! I always make it a point to post my comments on the responses received. I leave those responses which are not in the context of my discussions. However, I've not been receiving notifications from mylot, therefore, it gets difficult to know about the comments posted on my responses.

dpk you are right. notifications are not being received by us for the last four or five days. In fact i started the first discussion on that how should we manage in the absence of notifications. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2710756.aspx Members have suggested different ways. yes. we should reply for responses received.

I did not do this before but I never check the notifications anyway so does not make a difference to me .. I am just jumping into the discussions now. I want to be part of the discussion which is like chat so that I can participate better. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I like having long discussion especially with my topic. I am sure you have noticed that most of my topic looks like a chat box because of responses. That's the reason why we don't need to have a chat box feature here in mylot and that's the main reason why I cannot get away with the addiction. I like chatting with other mylotters through topics and discussion. That's how we get the connection and bonding with each other

yes. jaiho has discussions wherein it will go like chat. once i remember myself, jaiho and bhaby talked and it was really funny. i enjoyed it. of course age difference is there. so i may not participate in all discussions like that freely. in fact this discussion can be made interesting if three or four people are online and post counter responses from the angle of discussion and learning. a compilation of this later on will become a big article or book.

I really such such discussions and what i do when i don't know what to do i just jump in the middle. that is when i was learning. .. these girls have lot to say and I love that part. I think age difference does not matter and tell you the truth i just write and do not put this idea of age whenever i write. You are doing good and stay this way..

Hi jai, that is what I am talking about. I never used to make it look like chat but now I want it that way. I want to have multiple posts on a discussion. I want to enjoy writing more about what I know and since each response is unique in its way, i get more ideas to write. I Like your way of discussion. I am learning the trick from the veteran like you. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Yes. it is interesting to work in mylot. different ways in which we can work. one read the discussion only -- straight away post response. then go to another discussions. Here I may add one point: We can make responses any number of times for a discussion but all of them have to be unique. (that is different). I mentioned this now because I was under the impression we have to make only one response and balance as comments on others responses. This was clarified when one of my response was deleted and I was given the above reason (my response was not correct) pl react.

If I find nothing good over here in mylot I also just used to dig out the old discussions which I had started and just try to respond to the it. So that I don't feel any bored time over here. If I finish responding to my discussions I just used to respond to the discussions is similar discussions section but now a days I don't do so becuase I find a lot of good new interesting discussions.

I used to reply back as often as I could think of a response but I look back through my posts now and see I only probably commented back to about half the responses on my discussions. So I am trying to go back through now and catch up on the comments.

When I can't think of an original and quality post, I would check the responses to my previous postings and try to comment/answer as much as possible. If I have responded to all the comments on my discussions and am still raring to go, I would search for quality posts that do not have any response and I comment on those. What I have not done in awhile is selecting a best response from my discussions. Do you still do that?

When people respond to my post I try to respond to everyone.. I did have one person that added a comment to one of them and it is posted year ago.. I posted something right back... Sometimes it takes me a bit to get back to someone; I do not always see new responses and it doesnt help the email notifactions are not on.. Hopefully they are back soon;-)
