Ok, I went to the store today for Halloween items and baking goods. I was planning on buying Halloween make up, red decorating gell for my witch finger cookies and to see any new decorations and ideas. I was expecting to be able to go down 1 to 2 isles of Halloween items to look at. It wasd only on isle, the next isle already had Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations and gift items. That is really pushing the seasons. I understand the way the economy is we all need to start our holiday shopping a little early but I think 2 months is a bit much for Christmas decorations. Don't get me wrong, I have already started my gift buying in July while on vacation, but the decorations can hold off at least until right before or shortly after Thanksgiving. May this time of the year should be called Hallowthanksmas? What are your thoughts on this early display of the holidays? When do you start buying Thanksgiving and Christmas items?

I know it is terrible that the holidays are being rushed. In Nevada I saw Halloween items with the back to school items and now I am also seeing Thanksgiving and Christmas items with Halloween. I know I am starting to make my Christmas ornaments, but that is because I will be selling them online the first week in November. I will decorate my house for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. I will start my shopping the first week in December. I have to get the car fixed on Monday than I can determine how much we have left so I can set up my Christmas shopping budget. BTW I love your Hallowthanksmas.

Thank you for your response randylovesdar, I am so sorry for my late response. That is pretty much how we see it all here, it can really drive you crazy, especially if you have little kids with you while shopping. I do not have little kids but have seen and heard their Mommy, I wants... Too early to start that. Many times I start my shopping for gifts early, especially if I see something that I know someone would like. This usually happens when I am on vacation. I am on a strict budget for the holidays this year, not too much present exchange going on this year. Our families have decided to all get together for a nice holiday gathering and no gifts. Makes it easier on all of us. Where online do you sell your ornaments? I make and create handmade jewelry which I sell online and off line. I would love to see some of your work. Happy Hallowthanksmis! ;)

'Hallowthanksmas'..., I like that... Those holidays make the rest of the year pass by even faster for me. Over here though, we are not too big into Halloween, and we do not have Thanksgiving. So we go straight into Christmas decorations which are seen already in some stores now.

Hi sishy, Thanks for your reponse. That might be a real relief here not to have Halloween and Thanksgiving before Christmas. Here you have to budget your money if you are going to celebrate all three. Three months which you may need to spend extra money. Three months to concentrate on only one holiday might be nice. I love Christmas with all the decorations and togetherness we share here. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
