Broken laptop can't mylot? Mobile phone to the rescue!

When I got back to Manila my laptop won't boot and it's making a noise similar to my macbook which also had the same problem. Before I left for the province, there were ants crawling out of every holes from the computer and they must have damaged something... But thanks to my iPhone and my unlimitted data plan, I can still mylot and am even more active than when I'm mylotting on the computer since I can bring my phone everywhere. As long as there's sufficient signal, I can be connected. Minor inconvenience is when there's poor signal, and I have to be more careful in typing since it's much harder to correct mistakes on a touchscrren phone than with a keyboard and mouse. And of course the smaller screen can strain the eyes more. But I'm just glad that nowadays even without a computer we can still go online. Anybody else use their smartphones to login to mylot?

I tried once in my LG while I was staying in the city with my cousin. They have wifi in the house so instead of using my Lappy, I prepared to used my phone because even I am lying in bed I can still do myLotting which was the more comfortable and advantage.

That's so true! Now that you mention it, I realize that majority of the time I'm spending in mylot is while I'm on bed lying down eversince I started using my phone for mylot :)

Better to participate here while lying on the bed like texting to your girlfriends when the unlimited txt begun to be common in our country

I think you are using a plan, that is why you are more on calls. I have my plan before but now because my business related to loading stations, I learn to minimize expenses especially if it is related to managing my phone expenses

Hi friend, sad to hear about your laptop issues, anyway your smart phone helped you to access mylot without issues. I accessed mylot from my phone a lot of times, however it is not very comfortable like accessing from the system

Which do you find to be more challenging? Is it the smaller screen or the touch-screen keyboards?

When you say multitasking were you referring to other stuff you do on the computer as well? Because for me I can multitask even when mylotting on my phone. I can check other websites watch videos and do my task on online earning apps. I can also do other chores not related to the internet and it's much easier to do because I'm carrying a heavy device. I'll just put it in my pocket and get back to it whenever I feel like to.

smaller screen, as well as we don't have the ability to do multitasking while using mobiles and it takes a while to type the letters using the key pads

I once tried to log in mylot on my Ipod touch, but I find it difficult to type. So I do not use it to mylot, but on my laptop only. It is so fast and convenient to type on the computer keyboard. Now I am using a smart phone, but I use it to read news in addition to making and answering calls and sending text messages. Take care, silentwill.

I do use my phone too and it's for FREE. Using magic IP or IP tricks! It's always good to have a phone that's internet capable.

I've never tried those free internet service but I know some who does. They tell me the connection is slow during the day but it gets better at night time. How's your connection is it also like that for you?

Not really that slow. I can still post some comments to mylot so it's fine with me. It's like the usual connection that's for free.

I'm comfortable doing myLot using computers. I hope nothing will ever happen to my PC or laptop. But if it does happen, I'll try hard to learn fast how to myLot from a mobile phone. I can't be without myLot for too long...

It's fun! You can try it even if you have a working PC or laptop. If you have the means to, you can try mylotting when on a bus or something. Beats the boredom from a long travel.

I sometimes use my iPad to use MyLot when I'm not on my Computer. I have never used my iPhone before.

I don't have an iPad but if I did I'd prefer to use it than my iPhone. I'm sure it will be much easier to use due to the larger screen, specially the touchscreen keyboard.

As I am sure you will appreciate, a laptop is notorious for generating heat so you may have bits of ant corroded onto the motherboard. sadly that could cause havoc with the integrated parts and the laptop may be beyond help. As for using your mobile phone, I would be unable to cope with that. I never use my mobile for email or internet because it is far too small a screen to be truly practical, although I know many people that do regularly. Posting via a mobile would be a nightmare for me and I would probably simply give up, so I am impressed that you are coping so well.

I hope I can still save my files on my laptop. As for mobile, I still have good vision, at least on my right eye but it does strain the eyes more compared to using devices with larger screen. But in over half a year that I've using my phone I've gotten use to the size of the screen and it no longer bother me that much.

Maybe I am wrong but myLotting with mobile doesn't remain fun for a long time. I have been trying this since my laptop's display crashed. And all the minor inconveniences you mentioned there got to me also. I am using Samsung Wave-I and it doesn't have the features of next version even, like easy switch between text-areas. So, I have to avoid using emoticons, or at least keep it to minimal. At the same time, it's quite true I can post from anywhere the signal is good enough. Would have increased my participation too.... well, I don't like headaches! And I'm typing this one with half-laptop half-mobile combination. Works better!

I am not familiar with your phone but the interface on mine is easy to use enough and the inconveniences I mentioned are minor and is not enough to take the fun out of mylotting on the go. The positive greatly outweighs the negatives and I believe I'll continue mylotting on mobile even when my laptop gets fixed. Also as I responded on one discussion, I wish someone either from mylot team or just a member will be able to come up with a mylot app. It can be a lot more fun if someone is able to design something that is optimized for mobile use and minimize the inconveniences further.

My galaxy came to my rescue when i am devoid of the use of a proper computer. Though I make hell lot of typo mistakes but I am glad that i can be online without much problem. I agree that correcting mistakes using smartphones is a real test of patience. I only hope that mylotters bear with us of the unintentional errors.

Yes I too hope other mylotters will be more forgivingfor spelling mistakes and other typos from us who use mobile phones to post here. I usually make mistakes in not being able to press the space bar properly or pressing the backspace button instead of the letter L. But I'm trying to be more careful now so it won't be a pain to read for the benefit of my friends here.

Oh good thing that your phone was there to the rescue and continue mylotting.I often used my phone in mylotting to since it is more portable than laptop so I can do mylot anytime I want as long as I have my phone with me and with strong signal as well.

The portability of a mobile phone certainly gives it an edge over laptops. Even the smallest laptops called netbooks won't fit in your pockets.

I might start using my iPhone to start doing mylot because I do not own a laptop yet or tablet so I'm in need of using it for computer uses. Use what you got in-till you get. So hopefully we both get a laptop soon or fixed.
