I'm a native Texan but I have lived out of state for a long time and haven't been to the state fair for even longer. But I do have great memories of going there and seeing Big Tex when I was a kid. The last time I was there was when I was in graduate school at The University of Texas and I went to the Texas vs OU game which is played at the Cotton Bowl during the fair. I don't remember who won the game but I had a good time because I also went to the fair and a play and I took a date who was someone I really cared about. Yes Big Tex will be reborn because it just wouldn't be the Texas State Fair without him.

Well, I'm surprised that a statue so symbolic of a famous cartoon character was burned down, especially after 60 years that he was in that place. You know maybe the cause of the fire? Well anyway, I think that fans of Tex, definitely want to replace the statue. Tex as a comic is a myth, and myths, do not end in ashes!
